I ask this because I have CDs of the Gusto Music Series and 2 which are porter wagoner, Charley Pride are new rerecorded versions, and 3 which are 20 greatest country hits, Porter & Dolly 20 Greatest hits and George Jones 20 original greatest hits which are all original hit recordings we are use to on the radio and record. Please let me know your answer to the question before I go out and buy it if I can find it. Thanks. Love the song very much.
I have a question about the album posted on the posted on the screen. I noticed the album is titled, "Heaven's Just A Sin Away, Grammy Award Winning Hit," but also on the album it has the Gusto logo on the bottom left and the "Original Best Sellers," logo on it. Do you know if you actually have the CD if the album is all original recordings or are they all rerecorded material?
Reminds me of cruising with gramps as a kid in his dodge with WDAF 610 blasting on the am-only radio, chewing doublemint. He always waving at the people going the other direction cuz they were his neighbors.
If i understand right, they didnt think this song was gonna be their signature song, when they shipped it off to the DeeJays they were expecting the opposite side of the record to be their hit( i forget the name of that song) but on the contrary the DeeJays played this song and it caught, and started their rise to country music fame as their signature song
pure and great country music at its best,,country music today is lost big time,,we need to find away to bring it back to pure music,,,i grew up on this country and this is what i prefer today
I had the pleasure of meeting the Kendalls in a small club in South Alabama in the early 90s. Jeannie was nice but Royce was one the nicest, most down to earth people you would ever want to meet. I also sat in with the Movin Train band for about six weeks in the same club. They were a great bunch of guys also.
I used to work at a nursing home with patients with mild to severe alzheimers and this was on one of the CD's that was kept there.. They loved it! especially when we got them dancing and having a good time. Thanks for posting! Good memories!
Royce Kendall should be given more credit for being just about the best country harmonizer that ever was...

I never saw a photo of Jeannie without a hat on. I wonder if her hair was thin on the top of her head? She sure does look Royce.

@blueberries4ever I have seen her without a hat on. She isn't thinning :)

@HopefullQSM The hats are basically her trademark, she worked at a hat store before they hit stardom
