I've been hit by this more than once via various Google search results.
It tried to take over my Firefox browser. Very annoying as it was difficult to close enough tabs to make sure I got rid of it. But can it really download to my Linux machine?
How often does IE generate false positives? "Not commonly downloaded"? Won't be any good if users just learn to click their way through it like the existing dialogs related to downloading and executing a file from the internet.
@TheEdBott ah i see. So essentially they would had gone undetected until the weekly or bi-monthly full system scan. that sure is indeed bad for those using Chrome 10 then.
@TheEdBott: I gotta ask if these samples of malware when gone all the way through the process did made MSE to jump off a infection warning and if it managed to clean it or not.
@kingdaniel41995 1.- Microsoft Safety Scanner and 2.- SUPERAntiSpyware Portable Scanner. use them together in that order and your OS installation should be able to recover.

No, these samples were not detected by any AV software at the time. It was about twelve hours later that MSE picked them up.

@kingdaniel41995 These two are your best options if you are already infected since they are portable programs and can run without installing:
