This is probably when he wasn't very well known and had cut springs with an under-power car. I think the 86 stock is only rated 130hp, not sure. It's a very under-powered, the weight is what gives it an advantage.

usui togue- karuizawa nagano, drove down this road last week 13/6 :) but was in a rented auto demio and had obaa chan (grandma) in the back so couldnt go to fast, was still a great feeling to be on a road from my favourate anime series :D drove down another road my gf brother insist is from initial d near it but i couldnt recignise it and he dont know the name, think he was tellin me fibbs!

@desinate Its an 86 Levin. There were both 86 Levin's and Trueno's. The biggest difference between the 86 and 85 is the engine, the 85 is SOHC the 86 is DOHC.

@MEDIRTBIKEMASTER Yea you're on the right track now 1st stage Takumi races Keisuke's FD (twice), Nakazato GTR, Shingo's EG6, Mako and Sayuki's Sil Eighty, and then Ryosuke's FC at the end. 2nd stage he battles Seiji's Evo IV, Sudo's Evo III (blows engine during that race), and then races the levin at Shomaru Pass. 3rd stage (aka the movie) he battles Sudo again, but this time at Irohazaka. Then battles the son of his dad's rival. 4th stage is the only one that I get fuzzy on the details about.

SR5's aren't Levins, they're just AE85 chassis. Levins are a type like Corolla or Trueno or Civic or Integra. The one he's using is an AE86, and yes, it is a 4AG, but the 4AG's came in AE86 Levins, too. The only difference between them was that Levins didn't have the sweet flip-lights.

I have a picture, of a Ralph Firman in 2008 ARTA NSX. Hes cornering, it looks like he is gripping, BUT you can see hes countersteering and you can see the position of the wheel its in countersteering mode. But only slightly. If drivers do this in Super GT then drifting must have a purpose. After all DK became DK because he smashed everyone on Tsukuba while everyone was gripping and he drifted every corner of the race. So it really depends. High speed drifting you will see min countersteer.

@c312eal There's a difference between slightly rotating the car and drifting. Drivers will often cause the back to step out very slightly (corrected by no more then returning the wheel to straight) using trail braking or lift off oversteer in tight corners.

@c312eal I think its a little more complicated then that. Maximum grip is actually achieved by slipping the tires a certain amount (up to about 10 percent). Slight corrections are actually achieving peak grip- although I'd say TSuchiya is definitely sliding the car slightly here.
