To all my many fans over the years, I have been able to legally reupload the original version of this video. You can once again see the original by clicking the link embedded in the video.
Yeah, it really made me sad to lose the original song. It's not like I was making a profit from it or anything. I just loved the song, and wanted to honor it by adding an original video to try to share it with the world. So much for the spirit of giving, I suppose.
Thanks for your comment. I'm sorry you had to go through the trouble of watching the video while listening to the lyrics through your cellphone. Still, I'm glad that you could still enjoy it. Merry Christmas.
TSO did NOT have anything to do with you being asked to take down the music. We were only complimented by your video. I am sorry that it happened. Once again, it had NOTHING to do with the band. Unfortunately, we don't get to control the copyright. Many Thanks for listening. Your video rocked and we were just as upset as you were that you were forced to change the music. :)
Disarray28, If you really are a member of the Trans Siberian Orchestra then I apologize for my comments. I just assumed that the band itself had control over copyright usage. I wanted to believe that the people who wrote and performed that song would understand that my video was a tribute, not a way to exploit their work or profit from it in any way.
dissarray28, then why don't you approach the people who hold the copyright and ask them to allow it's use for this youtube clip. I'm sure the request coming from a member of the band would hold more weight than any of us.
This song became a favorite of mine after one listen. Although I appreciate someone trying to put an image to it, like so many other songs I think it's better left to the imagination. I envision a completely different environment.
Skyler, a truly wonderful tribute to TSO's masterful song. The halted animation seems perfectly suited to the song. Thank you so very much for your work on this wonderful video.
This is my very favorite of all TSO's songs. I've seen several of you say how deeply moved they were when they heard it, and I join you in that. I like this animated video, however I also agree with those who say it should be done as a video; a video using real people in a realistic "broken down" bar, etc.
As others have said, this song is more than the song, the message, or the video. The song is the feeling that plays out in the heart of the listener. TSO have made a classic because as long as there are people to hear the music, the message will be played out and acted out by man, woman, and child everywhere. As a side note, nice video, not the bar i see though.
The Bar in the Video seems too clean, I always pictured the bar in the song as more of a shabby city tavern like my old local. The Dive Bar at 103rd st and Broadway in NYC.
the video really touched base with the message the song sends, makes you feel all warm and fuzzy just watching it, TSO xmas trilogy albums is full with the fuzzy warm stuff LOL.
This version of this music is also awesome my friend.

Too bad about the song...one of my favorites, but you did an outstanding job, and I get it.

I think if you write a disclaimer when posting the video with the original music then it can go?
I've seen a lot of videos get away with that :)

DUDE! WTF happened???? This used to play "Old City Bar", now it plays "Silent Night".

The Trans Siberian Orchestra blocked my video due to their copyright ownership of the song, so youtube made me change it.
Apparently the "spirit of giving" message isn't as important as the allmighty dollar. :(

The first time I heard this song, I knew I had to try to capture it in a video somehow. I am glad to see it so well received.

I've always thought that TSO should have done this song as a video. It would have been one of their best, based on some of the others they've done.
