@NewJaBees This is in Northern California, a few hours north of San Francisco. You can't hear it on the video, but there was a 3-4 second echo when I played. That whole area was gorgeous and I'd highly recommend a trip to Northern Cali. I dig your Kondor tracks on your channel. The tracks are real fresh

Just wondering since i'm new to the melodica I have a few questions

do you think I should get a vintage hofner or just a new one do they sound any better? like vintage guitars and that as they age they sound better

@carlosfrusciante1 The one I play here is my personal favorite. It's an old Hohner 26. The metal ones sound a lot better than the plastic ones in my opinion. They don't make these anymore, but you can get them on eBay or Amazon

@kargakovar Not at all, its relatively cheap. There are many different kinds out there. Some are less than $40 and some are $300 with many in between. It is very portable and is great for jam sessions anywhere, no need for electricity (just lungs and fingers). Ebay has a lot, but just google it and I'm sure you'll find something good and cheap. Hohner makes the best ones though, if you can get a cheap Hohner, its the best. Glad you enjoyed

It is really simple and easy, I just practiced a lot and got good at it. It takes a few hours. If you put the time into it, you can nail it easily

its a Hohner 26, old style. Its super out of tune, but that kind of gives it a unique sound.

@rdm18 No I dont think its a Soprano. Hohner does have an Alto and Soprano (and probably a Baritone) but they are of the older variety. It is an old style Hohner 26 that I have

This is in the key of A flat Minor. Im playing A flat minor and E flat minor in the first part. The 2nd part is A flat minor and different variations on E flat Major and C sharp minor. I kinda bounce it, play the root on one beat and then the 3rd and 5th on the next beat. But the beauty is, you can literally play it however you want. Put this in your pipe and smoke it haha

Im hella stoked your rocking the love out there, make a video if you can. Its always cool to hear somebody's version of something you thought of. You can play that in any minor key. A Minor, E minor, and D minor are probably the most popular with Augustus Pablo. And if you can find the 4th and 5th minor chords in those keys, your set

no sheet music here, all right off the dome. i dont even think AP would play a song like this, i need a bass out there to fill the song in. no books or anything like that either, just a lot of practice and watching videos of AP. no i dont play in a band, but im kind in a one man band as you can see.
