  • It's always great to see the smile on someone's face when you ask them if they've ever listened to John Mayall, and they have.

  • Somehow I just discovered JM and while I am going on 50 now, I feel like I have just begun to live... and this music is a great help.

  • Oh ya, this is great, awesome post. Laura

  • From "The Turning Point" album...lost count the number of times I saw John Mayall at the Green's Playhouse/ Apollo Glasgow..musicians were always top class. One guy who really surprised me was Jimmy McCulloch (great blues guitarist) from Thunderclap Newman / Wings.

  • Proud to be a John Mayall fan. He always surrounded himself with first class musicians & 'inspired' the best from them. This video is mighty !!! Thanks for posting.

  • California , born and raised , do ya think they have a buzz ?? LOL !!!

  • Don't really know much about this incarnation of the Bluesbreakers.....Interesting!

  • @fendermac , I'm not sure that this was supposed to be a Bluesbreakers album, as Mayall was taking a break from all that at the time. It was more a Mayall effort to broaden his own musical horizons.

  • @jaht3z ...Is this not the 'Turning Point' line up? I don't consider the fact that Bluesbreakers wasn't in the title to be particularly significant.Mayall has had so many band members down the years that the handle seems irrelevant somehow.

  • @fendermac The Turning Point lineup, yes. But That wasn't the Bluebreakers lineup, or a Bluesbreakers project. It was a conscious effort by Mayall to do something more low key, no electric guitars or drums, and in a different direction.

The Bluesbreakers broke up in May '69, Turning Point was recorded at the Fillmore in July '69.
