  • not enough for me im a native instruments fan and toontrack all the way for drums!

  • @alexgo4210 I love bfd, eco and the big one, only thing I use for acoustic drums :) But toontrack is cool too

  • @SoundsAndGear Have you tried studio drummer or the abbey road series? so realistic! :)

  • @alexgo4210 I have all the drums from NI

  • Can you please help me midi map my drum set i have a alesis DM5.... and it wont midi map i tried everything... i even selected the midi options and no luck please help it would be much appreciated

  • @GodsMuscian check the fxpansion website, or ask their support team

  • very helpful :) thanks

  • @JesseJohnWilsonMus1c glad to help, thanks

  • This seems to me like a very good substitute to the basic ezdrummer package, what would your thoughts be?

  • @Guitarpat100 never used ezdrummer, I like the bfd products very much though

  • @Guitarpat100 In terms of customizability, this is two steps above ezdrummer (and one above the Superior 2.0 basic library). You basically get the raw recorded sounds and can tweak it any way you want.

  • question how do u setup bfd with a midi controller?

  • @Blokheadz there's midi mapping options in the software

  • i can dig it..

  • saint Joe one question for you i know you using maschine as your controller and what template you are using?????????? Geist template work but what template you using.

  • @mixman29 I'm not using a template, I just pull it up inside Maschine as a plugin and put the pads in keyboard mode :)

  • Saint Joe you never let me down I pick up ez drummer it was crap. Studio drums with my konplete 8 it was ok I can did kontakt interface. But today I pick up Eco for 30 bucks plus I saw your review. All I can say brotha was Whoa.

  • @mixman29 BFD is my go to for acoustic drums. I like it better than the NI drum libraries, sounds great and the mixer/fx are dope. I love it, for the sale price it's at right now....everyone should grab it! lol

  • Ooops, bfd of course ;)

  • Nice showcase of the BFF eco.

Got a question - how would you compare it against the new NI Studio Drummer?

I think u also reviewed it recently.

I'm interested on how they compare in terms of natural sounding, the groove library (how realistic and varied it is), CPU load etc.

Thang! Trying to decide if to upgrade to K8 or not actually...

  • @tomy7 yeah I have studio drummer, it's cool, I dig the built in mixer and everything, but I personally prefer bfd for my taste. However I think studio drummer has a few more diverse patterns if that's what you're looking for, for me I was just looking for a nice acoustic drum set. So in that regard they both have a good sound, I just like the bfd interface better as it's it's own thing instead of a kontakt instrument. Which isn't bad, I just like the larger mixer area and everything in bfd.

  • @SoundsAndGear

Cool thanx! I eventually did buy it yesterday (only 30$ after all :-) and found it to be phenomenal.

I only feel I'm missing a really good piano vst and drumming/sequencing.

BFD ECO covers the drums easily and I might go for Pianoteq for a better piano sound than the ones included in Komplete 6 I own (or the pro tools piano, which is quite good imho). Don't see much NEED to upgrade to K8 with the 170£ I don't have... K6+BFD eco+PT piano

If anything I prefer to put it on Geist

  • @tomy7 sounds like you've got a plan man, I say go for it :)

  • thanks for the video! its still not complettly clear to me if i can create my own drum patterns with this programm... maybe im an idiot here but i really wanna know.

  • @fuuby yes you can create your own drum patterns with it inside of any daw you wish

  • @SoundsAndGear thanks dude! than im gonna buy it. stuff like that is great to play along with guitar! cheers!

  • @fuuby no problem

  • Ok thanks.

  • How do I go about that?

  • @leightonmusik at the bottom where it says master, change the output to whatever you want to use in your daw.

  • Nice tutorial but is it possible to single out all the elements in my DAW Protools so I could have the drums mix down separately how do we do we lay out the the different drums elements?

  • @leightonmusik yes, there are multiple outputs you can assign to if you wish.

  • Yes Sir...Um feelin that brah...looks like it'll give your beats that Roots vibe with the live drums...definitely goin to get this thursday...but probably the full version...the salesman recommended it to me last week..but I was like nah..gotta see if Joe got a demo on it first...you know salesman , they just wanna get the sell..lol

  • @Kay79andPeachez79 I feel ya man, this version made me want the large version lol, just making sure you saw it. It has the same sound just not as much content.

  • what are you using to trigger the drums while you're going through different sounds.

  • @stratcries just a keyboard midi controller

  • @SoundsAndGear

Thanks for your reply Mr. Gear

  • @stratcries no problem, thanks for watching

  • Needs more Cow Bell.

    =]

  • @MystiK570 ha lol

  • Whats up St. Joe, yo you always got the hot stuff my dude!! Keep up the good work my dude!! Are you trying to produce or engineer? Grace and Peace in JESUS name!!

  • @wer1lifeproductions thanks yo lol, I'm just trying to have fun making music that means something! Wherever that falls, definitely more into production than mixing lol.

  • so what's the different between this and BFD lite?

    Thanks.

  • @ransisua BFD lite can't be purchased, it only comes as a bonus software with other programs, daws, or midi controllers. You also can't use expansion packs in BFD lite. So BFD Eco is less crippled than lite and available to everyone for purchase not just as a bonus. Also, BFD lite can't be registered with FXpansion, thus no updates or anything from FXpansion.

  • @SoundsAndGear awesome. This is what Fxpansion should do. A mini version, yet at affordable price. Thanks for the information. Nice review BTW.

  • @ransisua I agree, I think it will be very well liked, it's a great product and the price is right! Many don't want the full BFD or even need it, this is perfect, it will do well.

    thanks for watchin!
