  • I listen to Fantastic Planet everyday-- keeps me happy, healthy, sane. I don't know what I'd do without it.

    And also... Ken's glasses <3

  • best album ever. period. you can never get sick of it. I will go through times where I am not in the mood to listen to anything then I see this album and ALWAYS throw it in. Im never going to stretch my shape... to be with you. I never going long for life the way you do...im never going to push/put you out cuz your not in! This will only take awhile cuz I only want to be your Saturday Savior. Thank you Failure and Ken Andrews! This is my favorite song. So sexy...

  • @mattmpt Why are the words "paragraph" and "music" in quotes? Why are you inferring that I think albums can be produced in a day? I produce music every single day. What do you know about me? You're looking for shit that isn't there as a way of working out your own issues. Stop trolling. Find something constructive to do.

  • Such a good song. My name is Jack Woodward. I've spent the past few years churning out music as fast as possible. Most cats record an album a year and call it a day. They deliberate on the shit that they're going to do before hand and deface the initial inspiration of the music into obliteration. I try to capture the moment of conception. I don't question what I'm being told, I just write it down. Check out my music videos to hear the songs I conceived in this fashion.

  • @bassgod89 yeah you're impressing everybody there Jack, the bass god. Are you suggesting people that release 1 album a year are doing it in a day? Because you are sorely naive and misguided. And if that 'paragraph' is any representation of your 'music', i'll pass.

  • funny the drummer messes up at 1:50 and ken just shakes his head. i used to play this whole album warm up for drum practice. failure is the best

  • Wow. Barely 20 people there. That is super sad.

  • I am amazed they got this kind of a sound out of a telcaster. Impressive. What a great band and one of the best albums ever. Thanks for the video.

  • joemc83 you are my hero. Thank you for posting this live show. I probobly will never ever get to see them live. The sick thing in my head is it was around this time; I just discovered them...and bam...Gone. -_-

  • ken looks wierd with glasses haha

  • La cancion me encanta, pero no se le escucha mucho la voz a Kevin al inicio de la canción

  • i was born during the wrong time musically!!!! i was seven when this concert happened and i would have loved to be there!!!! doesnt get much better than seeing a group like failure at a small venue like this i can imagine.

  • i was born in the wrong time, i would have loved to see these guys live!!!! it doesnt get much better than this!!!! damn!!! I was seven when this concert happened!!!!

  • Yeah! I think the same when i hear music of the who and those classic rock bands.

    P.D.: in 1997 i was 11 years old :P

  • Loved the band, and especially this album. This some was one of the best in their catalog.

  • I fucking love this song so much.

  • Favorite band, miss those guys..

  • thanks so much joemc i miss failure a lot

  • the song about a song is Stuck On You

  • never gonna stretch my shape to be with you ilove these guys and support them in any way i can yotr, on etc.

  • i can't believe there's almost no one at this show... and speaking of tunings, i play this song on drop B flat... i guess it works on different settings all the same...

  • My favorite Failure song...though I don't know, it's kinda hard to choose a favorite

  • I know this is my favorite...followed closely by "Stuck on you"

    Dm

  • Ken Andrews is looking a little Mitch Hedburg-ish in those glasses lol

  • Nice comparison.

  • I'll say this here where true fans of failure are...

The stuck on you video is now full of debate on wether paramore is better than failure....

When i was a kid i thought stuck on you was about being in love or liking a jingle but listen to the second verse I know it's a metaphor for another thing... that subtle double meaning is very satisfying.

  • should be a no brainer that those kids in paramore have nothing on Ken Andrews. they can only hope to aspire to a microgram of talent from his ballsac and it still wouldn't be enough.

  • i read somewhere that this is a song about a song.

  • Failure is underrated. Great song.

  • the only tab for this song on the internet is a piece of shit, anyone know it?

  • The way I play it is the following chords

    A G C A

The tuning is dropped half a step down (to Eb)

Although I guess I'm not so much more helpful

  • try Db B E D

all barred chords in A position

  • wait...scratch that. same chords, different placement. make shape of an e-chord starting on the low e-string at fret 4 (so it should be 4 4 3). this is your Db chord. then go to B (2 2 1). then E (7 7 6), then D (5 5 4). i'm pretty sure this is exactly how they play it.

  • what if people wre wrong, and

    just being mean to them?

  • What show is this from? date? I listened to these guys when this album came out and always assumed from Stuck On You that they must draw a huge crowd. They even already had that album Magnified before this one.

haha long story short, what's the date and location of this show? thanks.

  • I love failure, I think a big reason they didn't blow up the way their music suggested they should have, is this video. Their live show left alot to be desired. Ken Andrews has a great voice, just the band has no stage presence....and with people being so ADD, they kind of fell flat.

  • Comment removed

  • well.. thats what happens when are do to much H

  • "Their live show left alot to be desired." Sounds like you're saying they failed. Ironic.

  • this gives me chills!

  • joemc83,... i'm up somewhere in the front, to the left, and cannot believe that this is on youtube. so surreal. this is one of my most cherished of live performances that i have ever witnessed, firsthand, and i would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for posting what I (in other words, a personal opinion of mine... don't freak the phuk out people) consider "occupationally" THE buddy holly/james dean of modern rock which IMO runs from about the later half of the 1980s to today.

  • ~~~Breee Bwahhhhhh~~~

  • god troy van leewan's played with soo many good bands

  • wat is this song about?

  • It's about not a wanting a relationship with the girl he's having sex with.

  • i just recieved my copy of failures "Golden" unreleased sounds and images. i love them even more now.

  • I lost this album a few years back when my cds got stolen....I liked it too

  • i can't quit listening to this album,

it's just so fucking solid and satisfying to listen to

--and 210 percent more genuine than the shitty psuedo-grunge rock-pop that's infiltrated the minds of the masses for so many years.

  • @wearenotsnobs dude....right on.

  • Way fuckin underrated. It's all I listen to right now.

  • thanx for this...loved these guyz in high school

  • I love heroin,pony's, and failure!!!!!

  • the look is anti-grunge. so is the sound. i think it was on purpose. they were more art rock than pop rock of the time. which is a good thing.

  • it's insane to me that these guys got left in the dust. they're almost like grunge perfected, the peak and pinnacle of the style (that's a lot of 'P's) if one considers them to be 'grunge'. and unlike many of their contemporaries, there's not a hint of phoniness, hamminess, or sell-outery in their sound or their presence.

imagine the direction late '90s music could have gone, had failure caught on...

  • on failure's fame:

    the name says it all

other than that fucking brilliant of the mid 90's space rock bands

  • Ken Andrews is just SO FUCKING COOL =]

  • Lost all copies of this!!! Know how HAPPY wuz when utube knew WHO THE HELL failure WAS?????????

  • who was happy? youtube? and why?

  • "the music business is a cruel and shallow money trench. a long, plastic hallway where pimps and thieves run free and good men die like dogs...there's also a dark side."

    --Hunter S. Thompson

failure was one of those bands that that never received the attention they deserved.

every song and sound on both of their albums was honed to perfection and distinctly their own, sounding just as a failure song should. i get a certain feeling and mood i get no where else when i listen to their music.

  • Deth,

no doubt, Failure was the most overlooked rock/grunge bands of the 90s.. but their fans appreciate their stature/talent in 90s rock.. they remind me of the Misfits, in the sense that when I was a kid in the early & mid 80s, I only knew one guy who cared about them, even tho' their albums were killer, but as time passed they got exposure (with a lot of help from Metallica) and other people realized how good they were,.. it'll come for Failure, but who knows when ~

  • @deth15 Both of their albums? They had 3: Comfort, Magnified, and Fantastic Planet. Also look for The Replicants CD, a disc of cover tunes from the Failure era recorded by members of Failure and Tool. They put their own quirky twist (or twisted quirks?) on each of the songs and they chose great ones to cover.

  • I wish Failure was recognized as one of the big bands in the alternative/grung era.

  • The camera being gets extra points for actually using a tripod. Yay!

  • joemc 83 thank you for recording this shit not only am i glad u recorded it but even better that its here in h town long live the urban art bar!!!!!

  • summercamp ,failure, local h , meat puppets all under rated

  • Meat Puppets are well known these days. They've got enough recognition, and its well deserved.

  • RESPECT! :-)

  • This is too awesome to be real o.O

    AWESOME song! :D

  • amazing band.everytime i hear them i get hypnotized in the weirdest way.its amazing

  • hypnotic is a good word for their/his stuff

  • i love this song

  • one of the best bands that never was

  • im diggin kens glasses

  • MAN, this band is so under rated. Maybe they should have named their band "Success" instead, lol.

  • One of the most underrated bands of all time...

  • the official Failure tribute album comes out this summer! It's called "The Nurse Who Loved Me". search failure tribute on myspace music. I got to cover "Muffled Snaps" on the album. I am stoked!

  • Greatest band of all time, I got to see them once right before they broke up, and I was already in love with them. I was 17 and my life changed that day.

  • Anyone know where this show was?

  • Houston Texas in 1997

  • cool, thanks!

  • It was at Art Bar in Houston. I think it used to be called the Axiom. I know I have played there though.

  • sweet-- I appreciate the reply! i'm from Baton Rouge, so I was just wondering if it had been at a place I know.

  • BEST BAND EVER!!! I LOVE FAILURE!!! The first time I heard them was in my brothers car like 2 years ago, and I have loved them since!

  • I would say the greatest band ever, the most underated ever, and ken and greg were the john lennon and paul mccartney of alt rock

  • I learned on bass today, im playing it right now

    woo hoo

  • "critically praised, criminally overlooked."

I couldn't have said this any better.

  • Failure is one of the most unique and well thought out bands to ever live. So underrated.

  • these videos you've posted are really special and i want to thank the poster. Really reminds me of high school and old times. Words can't describe how cool this band is.

  • Failure is the best rock that has ever been. Ken Andrews is a total sonic master, and a really great person as well. Listen to his music.

  • failure changed my life

  • Man i love this band. None of them are dead or anything; they should really get back together. I reckon they'd sell out a lot of places if they toured again.

  • i bet those 50 people got rocked!

  • gracias por compartir el video

  • Like King's X... critically praised, criminally overlooked.

  • god i wish i had discovered them earlier!

  • Failure was Successful...

  • moderately, but still underrated

  • lord...where has the time gone

  • Playing to 50 people in Houston....and I thought that Club Lingerie was a grim scene.

  • this is Houston we're talking about... i should know. i'm surprised they even played there!!!

  • Why because Houston dosn't have people that would listen to music like failure?

  • My favorite is Leo.. I can't find a vid of them playing it, though..

  • I don't have live video, but I do have live audio of that one.

  • I love this song . This is one of my favorite songs off the album. The words are so amazing.

  • I love this song . This is one of my favorite songs off the album. The words are so amazing.

  • The BEST SONG of all time!!

  • OMG fuckin awesome!!!!

  • "I'm never gonna let you out.'Cause you're not in" What a killer line.

  • why is this tagged with Autolux?

  • because the bass player for failure is the guitar player for autolux.
