  • what is this all about? i don't quite understand

  • The protestors have to realize that we are in a recession and many people are hurting. There is not an unlimited amount of money that the taxpayers can pay. Too fucking bad. Many are unemployed. I'm not going to pay any more taxes to support overbloated budgets. Some suggestions. Get rid of worthless programs like women's studies, black studies, latino studies and the like. Colleges are some of the most wasteful places around. What about all the waste on campus. Tought shit for you guys.

  • GWB has bankrupted the country, now Arnold is sporting for California. And on top of all this, these government bullies have to beat on public university students. To quote joe flynn, "i just want to cry."

  • Arnold has taken over his role here in California. They wave the flag in one hand, the bible in the ot.her, tell everyone that they too will be super rich someday and loot everything for themselves and their super rich friends. The ignorant, the superstitious, the collaborators, and the greedy believe them.

  • With the 32% increase in public college costs - the totalitarian plans of the super rich to further their domination of this country and turn it into the third world nation continues even without their poster boy GWB.

  • Drop out, commit crimes, then you will all get your FREE ticket to Prison, where you'll work like slaves.

  • This is Obama's plan to put America to work... In Prisons!

  • Wow, can you come up with anything more stupid?

  • I guess Obama was just playing the youth Vote. HA

  • Hey moron, I go to UCLA and my mommy and daddy isnt paying for shit. My dad is unemployed, and my mom makes shit for money as a teacher. im up to my ears in debt and student loans. and thanks this fee increase, it will be even higher now. most students dont work because we take lots of units to graduate on time. do you even go to college? i doubt it, next time think before you post that bullshit. This is UCLA, a public school not private. we dont play 40k a year like USCwe aren't spoiled brats.

  • Well you need to pay for yourself, the money won't fall from the sky, mate.

If you can't pay, blame the university for putting money in shit investments in the investment bank in the wall street . If you guys don't know how to invest or make money, ask the Asians.

The attitude that wanting everything for free while cliams oneself to be in a demoractic capitalist society is really puzzling.

  • im not saying i want it for free. nothing in this world is free. I feel education is a very important investment, and i am willing to pay.

However, i would like financial aid and lower tutition.

  • Well then invest in education yourself then, why taxpayer's money need to invest YOUR education? Will you pay back to the coffer after you graduate?

Where your family's money going? Why you guys always ask for aid? Don't you have any savings?

You are willing to pay, pay with what?

You can't just ask your U not to increase the fee as it is having deficit. Why there is a deficit -- wont you start wondering your society's system has something wrong with it?

  • do some research into what the university is investing in- you'd be surprised.

  • You apparently forgot the concept of a loan. Going to school itself isn't free, and since we aren't qualified to work anywhere other than walmart or whatever, it's not feasible.

You can't work 2 full time jobs and be able to juggle school. In fact, it's hard enough being able to juggle a full time job AND go to school part time. That's why many of them go to school full time and get the loans that, yes, they do pay back.

An increase in tuition is a debt increase. It's not free.

  • maybe now you know how all of the conservative "tea partiers" feel, fucking hypocrite.

  • no, i do not know how you feel because i do not identify myself within the same group that you id as ideal. i do not share your vision of a world that excludes others and spreads hatred.

  • most of the protesters are students who are working to pay for the education because they don't want to burden their family. sadly, those students whose parents are paying for their education, the majority did not participate. but why be angry at the students? they are pretty much fighting for all students to afford a higher education. be angry at a government system that is placing more money into the prison system then in education. yes we are lucky. but in most adv. country, edu. is free! y?

  • You can't have a democratic system that having money -- All democracy societies are dommed to broke. Why? coz every election candidate will promise giving out money and do so while elected. This becomes a spiral downwards and eventually all coffer goes broke.

Guys, you need to start to think about socialist system, or at least a hybrid. Democracies are not sustainable, at least financially.

  • what do you say to graduate students who pay everything for themselves while making 15-20,000 for the year, but if they live in graduate student housing they pay the lion's share of that in rent? Do we deserve to pay increased tuition because of your prejudice that undergrads have rich parents? Which some do and some don't, something I'd know much better than you!

  • Once the socialist (liberals) take our entire paycheck, what happens next? Will we have to give them IOUs?

  • The fee affects any household that makes more than 60 grand a year? Ok, typical Mom and Dad make over 30 grand a year so that makes the 60 grand. Basically this is fucking the typical American family (as usual) and helping once again illgals and deadbeats. Same old shit.
