  • just had 2 for dinner, haven't puked yet... so I'm tentatively saying it's possible for the average person to eat them. Surprisingly creamy, the avocado and almond butter add a lot of flavor, and the spinach helps mask the flavor of the seaweed.

  • I read somewhere if you eat too much protein from eggs fish meats ect. it can exhaust your body I get most of my protein from greens

  • Just made it...used organic peanut butter..and had to bake my own kale since noone has it boxed. Had it with homemade pineapple juice, Also picked up the coconut water o.n.e...not bad!

  • New fan here... I tried this and its great! Thk u! The Kale crunchies went up to $13 online so I just bought a big bunch of fresh kale at the store for $2 and cooked it down to the texture of the fresh spinach before adding the spinach. Kale is bland, so better if sauteed in Olive oil and garlic salt, and then follow the rest...Boom!

  • @R3dTigerM40A3 Yes i get that the almond butter contains protein... But its not nearly enough, and all the other videos just contain fruit and veg and no protein... So again how do they get a healthy amount of protein? Do they consume alot of protein shakes or something? x

    they make some kind of smoothies with papayas i think..and corn soups..that's all i know.

  • I eat this almost every day. Except I don't heat my spinach because you lose a lot of enzymes from heating the veggies.

  • I've been making these every day for the past week. So good. I've been using the fresh ground almond butter you grind yourself at whole foods. Here on the east coast we don't have those kale munchies so I bought the "Brad's Raw Chips" spicy kale chips that they also sell at whole foods. Such a great sandwich, and very good for any vegan diets.

  • Hey man, I tried this w/ whole wheat whole grain bread, organic peanut butter, and avocados. It was delicious. Will add spinach next time. Dunno about those kale chips if they are too expensive.

  • I'v been having this sandwich regularly for a few weeks now and i can see where the renergy is coming from now. wud recommend everyone to try it. i dd have one question, @GracieAcademy is it ok to make it, wrap it up and leave in the fridge for the next morning? or does the spinach have to be warm? and is it ok to use cashew butter if u dont hav almond?

  • I just made this for my wife and I for dinner.... I was skeptical, 'cause I'm a big guy, and I likes my MEAT. But, I was very pleasantly surprised and so was my wife. I will definitely be eating this again, and again!

  • I just made this for the first time today for lunch and it is really good! I was skeptical, but I really enjoyed it and will make this a regular part of my diet. I did a few things differently though for anyone interested:

    1. I use Sunbutter instead of Almond Butter...sunbutter is "peanut butter" but it's made from sunflower seeds...tastes AWESOME and has a better nutritional profile IMHO

    2. I used Hot & Spice Vegan Cheese flavored Kale Chips

  • Stupid question, but I never ate an avocado - how does it taste like and are they rather hard or soft? I know it says soft but soft is relative, how soft is it compared to an apple let's say?

  • @Cachorrinho1907 It's a fair bit softer than an apple. Think of maybe room-temperature butter, that doesn't break apart as easily. You should get one, they're awesome. Cut it in half lengthways, gently lever out the pit (really big seed in the middle) and then carve it out with a butter knife, and spread it straight onto wholegrain bread. Maybe put a small amount of black pepper on top, and you've got a tasty, healthy snack.

  • I think I'll try it but I would like to say that juicing fresh kale, spinach, cucumber, green apple, celery, chard and a piece of fresh ginger and drinking that every day is 100X the punch and results of this sandwich. Research the studies on green juice and see the benefits. The juice tastes like crap but it's benefits are second to none.

  • Hmmm, looks like an interesting but good idea.

    Question for GracieAcademy, and any others out there, regarding stripping down bodyfat. I found that even w/ P90X, etc and eating "healthy" whole grains, brown rice, etc, I was not dropping the bodyfat. But, when I chopped wheats and rices from my diet, and fired up my cardio even more ..... BAM ... the bodyfat started melting off.

    Any thoughts from anyone out there? Am I one of those genetic freaks that has to go a Paleo route to strip bodyfat?

  • @wyleehokie No you are not a genetic freak. By completely eliminating chopped wheats and rices from your diet you almost certainly reduced your calorie intake, and you said yourself you upped your cardio even more, so yu were burning more calories. You ate less, and did more = weight loss. Your diet was probably good before but you were eating a maintenance amount of calories.

  • @wr3stlegirl as the title says its a re-energy thing so it's probably not good to just eat and sit and watch tv, eat this and go take a walk around the nieghborhood to burn some of the energy, its nice to enjoy life

  • if you add little bit of "kala namak" black mineral salt(you can purchase it in asian or indian grocery store) it will give avocado taste of boiled eggs.Amazing combo.the salt smells of sulfur a bit and tastes great.

  • Rener... great job on the video. I made this sandwich this morning and found it to be fun to make. I made my own kale chips in the oven, which was also pretty fun. The videos for making kale chips are all over YouTube. After eating one of the Renergy Breakfast Sandwiches, I did feel a bit ill. The taste was surprisingly good, not sure why it made me feel sick. I guess I am not familiar with the combination of ingredients. I'll try again in a week or so... keepin it real in the south.

    If you were going to cook it, saute garlic onions in olive oil, then throw spinach in to the pan, little salt n Pepper.

    also just mash the avocado so it is even, and helps stick other ingredients to it, if you leave as slices it wont stick

  • I've just had my first Renergy sandwich ever. I must say it was delicious. I didn't use the kale munchies he suggested though. I made my own kale chips (look on You tube for homemade recipes). Both the chips and the sandwich taste great. Thanks for posting it Rener.

  • i tried it but i dont have that rare crunchy stuff but i've never had almond butter. its awesome. every once in a while I make up for it with other stuff. Sometimes I add a little chicken breast or tuna for some extra protien but I really like the idea of sauted spinach in a sandwhich in the morning :) seriously these gracie videos have made me more conscious of what I eat. Also I tried coconut and watermelon juice for the first time. DONT GET IT WITH ADDED SUGAR! they're both sweet enough

  • wow, I just made it for myself and I have to say it's a lot better than I thought it would be.  Because it came Gracie recommended, I gave it a shot and I'm really glad I did. I'm going to try to incorporate this into my regular diet!
