How bout we look at it another way-India are ranked No1 in Test cricket right now,mainly down to the strength of our batting.Sehwag,Ghambir,Sachin,Dravid,Dhoni,Laxman-aswell as the likes of Yuvi,Raina,Kohli( amongst others)going for the number 6 spot.All players which most countries would have in their starting 11.

And apart from Kohli, I don't see any great prospect... not even 'the best Indian batsman of his generation', Rohit Sharma, who's just average in international games. In fact, the only team who can be n1 in Test for a long time is England.
About Pakistani players, I've got hope in Azhar Ali, and bit Asad Shafiq/Umar Akmal, but not high hopes tbh.
