Some complain Spore is repetitive and dull, but I'm not one of them! Even when the gameplay built in runs out, I can do many things from my own ideas. In one game I played with no colonies, another, I made a war between two of my games. Creating custom homeworlds is also fun. And that is what Spore is about.

The City stage of Spore was not implemented in the final game. It was supposed to come after the Tribe stage, but before the Civiziliation stage. Your tribe had became civilized, but motorized vehicles had not been invented.

There was going to be A City stage....and a Aquatic stage why did EA remove this EA ruined it D:

They got rid of underwater creatures because they had problems with procedural animation without a plane to walk on. They said they might release it in a patch or expansion pack when they resolve the issues.

@Darkfoxx999 I know, back then it seemed more feasible that it might happen. After a year though, my optimism for that possibility is pretty much gone. I'm extremely disappointed in EA; even if they only care about money, which I don't doubt they do, they are making themselves lose it with stupid decisions, such as making Spore much more childish, and then not improving the core game or creating an improved sequel but creating knockoffs on other consoles. It's a little bit depressing.

I DON'T think so! Spore has some GREAT ideas at it's core: massive-singleplayer, sharing user creations, the focus on following one species from amoeba to star empire. But the execution is plain horrible, especially on the later stages. Their focus on an audience of 5-year-olds destroys the game. What they really need is a GREAT Spore 2 something much more complex and focused toward adults. While it may be true that the market is toward kids, I think adults have been waiting for a deep game.

No, no. I found a completely original and unique experience in the unbelievable suckitude that is Spore 1. I don't know who Yathzee is and I didn't see his review or whatever. I just am very acquainted with being broke and a starving artist. Money=energy. When I shell out $45 for a game, I fully expect to hear rumbling in my tummy later on that month because of it. I havn't played the game, but i'm siked about it! I don't see your problem. Do you really want a game where you don't do anything? You click a button, and it starts life, and you just sit around staring at the screen waiting for a cell to grow an extra tentacle. The point of the game is to have fun and explore you creativity. NOT to prove evolution.

I think that a compromise between this design and pure evolution would be more entertaining than the way it is set up.

If you could choose a design, but it only worked if it was successful and naturally selected for, and then there were also random mutations that happened. I think it would be really cool.
