@optionsupdate It's very possible to have to guess on some numbers. Using probability and number of mines left over you can often figure out with varying degrees of accuracy where mines are if you run into a situation where you can't be sure. Though it's also possible to have to guess between two squares at the end of a puzzle and actually fairly common, but it doesn't happen as much in beginner.

@10lettername Of course you have to guess to open the first two squares, and you need to click in empty space to open a large area, so yes the first few clicks are guesses in this version, but the WinVista/Win7 versions make it impossible to hit a mine on the first clicks before you get an opening.

In other words, the game hasn't started until you get an opening, so it's still logical. Although, in the XP and early versions, it is possible to get to a point where the last click is a guess.

I have to fix this,

1. The only way you can lose on the first click is in windows vista/7 versions. Choose "restart this game" when you lose and the game places the mines in the same location, otherwise all versions place the mines after the first click.

2. It is possible in all versions to have a 50/50% arrangement of mines or an area in which the locations of mines are incalculable. This can happen at any time throughout the game.

Double click on a number that already has all off its mines flagged to clear all of the other tiles that are touching it. VERY important in order to boost speed.
