I'm so glad this model bombed. Apple earphones last no time at all before one of the channels stops working so you'll be having to buy a new set of special earphones regularly and they're not cheap.

I got i pod but i can't use it, when i plug the headphone, it says PLEASE USE ITUNE TO SING MUSING IN THIS IPOD, what the hell is that supposed to mean. this drives me crazy everytime i plug the headphone in.

you dont have to for it to call out the playlist you want when it says the first play list you want just press the button twice itll say the name of the next 1 its alot faster than waiting

I absolutely love this little Shuffle. My husband bought me the newer one just recently but I don't use it. This little one is so great for running or using a treadmill or at the gym, I don't know why anyone would have a problem with the cord controls. I did have to change out my earbuds tho' because the ones that came with the ipod wouldn't stay in my ears. I just bought a set of Belkins & everything's fine.

Got one of these on eBay for $6. It's pretty sweet. I got the earphone adapter ($10) so I can use a different set @ home, but the Apple earphones that came with it are still very handy when working out.

On the new zealand apple store there is a belkin adapter thing to connect any headphones to the shuffle, I think that's very useful, and I'm going to buy one :) good honest review, unlike others who praise anything and everything apple, they mess up too :)

@jurby26 you have to buy a headphone that has the controller built into the wire, so you have to make sure it's compatible with the ipod.

ya i have that old ipod shuffle and the touch. I love the old ipod shuffle bettter.

If you were wondering which ipod to get I would recomend a shuffle but the older version was the best. If you just want to listen to music expesially if you use it to exersice then the shuffle is the best but the nano is good since you get a screen. An ipod touch is cool and all but for 300 dollars is it really worth it? I like my shuffle better than the ipod touch. I dislike the new shuffle the only thing

yea, but apple has control as they licence the technology out to third parties and charge them for the privilege. So they get to decide who gets to make headphones that work with the nano and the extra charges get passed down to the consumer , both of which suck in my opinion
