Interesting. A race car vs a nissan. The R35 GT-R has won pretty much nothing compared to the GT3 in actual motorsport. The only success the R35 has had is in the super GT, but for that they swap the engine for a V8 NA so its not really a GT-R. The GT3 is capable of lap after lap on the track, the GT-R is too heavy and runs too hot (even the Spec V) to run for a full race distance

@Kheops63 when you race around a track several times, there is a lot of driver error that can occur and its really hard to gauge what the car can actually do. If I'm a good all around drifter and you're not, I'll eat you up on the track and probably win even if the car I'm driving isn't really all that great. Track driving is more "driver dependent" than it is "vehicle dependent", granted you're not driving around in a complete and total piece of shit.

The driving school where I work bought a GTR in 2009, we have used it for 6 months and didn't keep it! It's not tough enough for intense track use. But we have a C2S, a C4S and a GT3 RS 997.1 (same as in the Video but RS version) and it's bulletproof for this use! Its weight is the key! And it's more fun!

If you come to the US trying to race someone around some curves and through the back country, they're not going to race you, LoLoL. gt-r relies too much on electronics and tires. Watch any review after a few laps the lap times start rising and the handling becomes dull and the weight starts to show. Its too heavy and puts way too much stress into the font tires to force it to handle how it should without all the trickery.
Amazing piece of tech and its a fast car, but I think it misses the point of a SPORTS car.
The GT-R is a very fast and cheap Sportscar with lots of technical stuff...but nothing gives you this smile on your face like a 997 GT3 and nothing lets you drive so happily like this car...

@Kheops63 when you race around a track several times, there is a lot of driver error that can occur and its really hard to gauge what the car can actually do. If I'm a good all around drifter and you're not, I'll eat you up on the track and probably win even if the car I'm driving isn't really all that great. Track driving is more "driver dependent" than it is "vehicle dependent", granted you're not driving around in a complete and total piece of shit.

The driving school where I work bought a GTR in 2009, we have used it for 6 months and didn't keep it! It's not tough enough for intense track use. But we have a C2S, a C4S and a GT3 RS 997.1 (same as in the Video but RS version) and it's bulletproof for this use! Its weight is the key! And it's more fun!

If you come to the US trying to race someone around some curves and through the back country, they're not going to race you, LoLoL. GT3 all the way. The transmission on the GTR can't handle much abuse according to Nissan. Besides you can get a used GT3 under $100k easily and a GT3 just over. I don't care what the specs are Porsche is the better track car...period.

The design of the 911 is timeless...in contrast, the GTR will loose its ''sexappeal'' (if there is something of beauty) in about5-10 years, when its replaced by a completely new model.
Look, a Nissan Skyline from 1995 costs now about 5000 Euro...a comparable 911 RS from 1995 about 100.000 Euro!
The GTR is for sure an excellent driving machine, but will never be as disirable as the style icon ''911''.

gt-r relies too much on electronics and tires. Watch any review after a few laps the lap times start rising and the handling becomes dull and the weight starts to show. Its too heavy and puts way too much stress into the font tires to force it to handle how it should without all the trickery.
Amazing piece of tech and its a fast car, but I think it misses the point of a SPORTS car.
