  • this is my favourite Runrig song. i miss Skye

  • Nice hair Asian women **lushfmlk.info**

  • I was actually at this concert, stood at the front lol. They closed the Barbican the local council so we dont get famous bands like this no more in York :s

  • Whats wrong with you people. Are you all deaf. This is mediocre sentimental CRAP.

Whetever happened to Frankie Miller. I was born and bred in Scotland- glad I got out.

  • I used to watch them in about 1986 in Caol community Centre Fort William. Some magic nights out!

  • at the celtic festival YEEEEEEEEEESS

  • woot going to see runrig tonight in Newcastle (millionth time lol) still wish Donnie was in the band though, all the guys are awesome, met them when i was a kid, n donnie used to take me swimming with his youngest n used to go to his when i lived in Skye, i miss those days but ROLL ON TONIGHT WOOT

  • i saw runrig live last year, although without there lead singer due to obvious reasons. they were brilliant. they now have a canadian guy singing for them... excellent!

  • Rory is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet, met him quite a few times and every time he always finds time to stop and speak to you.... all the guys are sooooo nice. I even named my son after Rory!

  • Calums just like the rest of them the nicest person haha.

But Malcs got to be one of the most unappreciated musicians on this planet.

Hes a very nice guy too aswell, love the way he composes himself though, he knows hes good haha, but doesnt boast at all about it, very proud to be a fan of them!

Loved them never stopped loving them since sort of from either 98 or 99 and never onced looked back and I am 28.

Most people would expect people like me to like shows like X Factor and all that crap.

  • @jsmith19810808 im 24 and been listening to them since i was about 4, love em, can't stand the likes of X factor and id rather go to a Runrig concert any day!

We were very fortunate as kids to have this wonderful band introduced to us! As well as many other great bands.

I love Runrig just as much now as i ever have. :)

  • I love how their, pardon the pun, becoming more commercialised though, not sure if thats because of their new(ish) management agency they have after sadly Marlene retired (and later sadly passed away) or anything, but it makes them pure entertainment, both with a bit of amusement with the way they talk between songs.

I have never once been let down by them ever! for an amazing gig/concert, really do envy Malc though in a good way of course, met him aswell, I just didnt have a clue what to say.

  • Still love this band's sound! Jeannemarie

  • Been looking at some of their earlier live songs, have to say do love coming back to this one though.

A week before I met Malc, and the rest of them haha, great one that the single best one I've been to ever, the atmosphere (that and Barrowlands), simply have to be the best concerts for me that I have been to.

  • Very nice Song, i am Runrig Fan too ;-)

  • i live on skye its beautifull good song

  • skye - a beautiful isle - i love it so much, i have been there 4 days ago with my husband for our honeymoon - and i want to go back there ... i still miss syke ... :-( about the song - terrific!!!!!!!

  • magic and i almost forgot

  • bloody hell great stuff lads

  • scone palace 26th july 2009 theres stil tickets availible £35

  • i'm going (:

  • Get well soon malcolm!!!!!

  • Donnie rules - Runrig will never be the same :(

  • am from skye best band ever not the same with out donnie the new guy sucks

  • I'm not from Skye but I don't think you need to be from the highlands to know a good band. Runrig are much more than either lead singer; and Bruce isn't a new guy - he's been with them for nearly ten years now!

  • I wouldn't say Bruce sucks but he is nowhere as good as Donnie

  • a agree, donnie is probably the best singer for a guy, but the other guy is very good aswell

  • he s noo comeing back lol

  • give me donnie any day

  • Both lead singers are amazing into their own right!! But above all I love Runrig, the band; it's much more and much better than any Donnie or Bruce taken alone. It's Runrig, love it or leave it!

Thanks for sharing the video, Bruce looks so young... :-)

  • Not the same without Donnie. Has to be said! Still a good song though!

  • Those saying Donnie MADE Runrig are sadly mistaken. He was an important part of the band, but the heart and soul of Runrig are the MacDonalds in the songwriting and Malcolm in the musical side. Just look at Runrig's present success and look at Donnie's solo career.

With Donnie the band was getting musically stale. With Bruce they're improved A LOT in that department and the band seems to be a lot more confident and relaxed when playing live. Runrig's changed without Donnie, but for the better.

  • i've grown up listening to runrig and love the music. but even i have to say that there is no comparison to Donnie. The new guy is from nova scotia and should have stayed there, the band isn't as good, much to my dismay :(

  • dont be a plank...bruce is amazing

  • You should go and see Runrig now, they are amazing, I,m sure you'll change your mind.

  • From Elgin myself... anyway. Donnie was good and is missed to a degree. But i have to admit Bruce is far more 'crowd friendly' than Donnie ever was. They are still a great BAND and their concerts are just as good as with Donnie if not better.

  • fair enough, i didn't say they were bad now, just that i preferred Donnie. I met him at Speyfest and he was lovely! i just have a thing for his voice lol

  • I like both singers but prefer Donnie a bit more-still the "new" one is good

  • superb

  • stop the shit who is the better singer just love the music by RUNRIG

  • Hear Hear.

  • Runrig used to play about a mile from my old house in Macduff, Scotland. They used to play at a little place called Tarlair which used to be an outdoor swimming pool. I love Runrig, and thats quite something to hear from a Hard House DJ!!

  • and Run Rig..?? its Runrig...one word

  • Haven't bought a Run Rig album since Donnie left. This new fella's voice and accent just don't fit.

  • Hi, I just tuned in as I love Runrig. I dont pretend to be in the know but I can feel the compelling magic of the band, even without the singer I first heard, on my very first wiewing of Runrig on TV a few years ago, I love listening to their beautiful sound, that's inspiringly good. Precious years ius on of my favourites

  • no one cares what albums you have bought you idiot

  • Donnie's the better singer by far, but then Bruce has had the mammoth task of filling a big mans shoes, not an easy task by any means. There's a couple of songs I like Bruce singing, that I could listen to. They are 'Hearts of Olden Glory' and 'Loch Lomond', but I think that Donnie is the better of the two and they have lost a lot of the magic without him. It sounds like Runrig now only because of Rory's vocals and not because of Bruce's.

  • great fuckin song, the new singer is just as good as munro

  • On a couple of the songs he's good Hearts of Olden Glory and Loch Lomond. Although there's nothing wrong with Bruce, if I went to see Runrig now it would be for the rest of the band, to listen to Rory's vocals more than Bruce, except for the two songs I mentioned.

  • Great band, saw them live in 1990 on the Isle of Skye.

  • braw

  • AMAZING GET dONNIE BACK

  • Am bheil fhios aig duine sam bith am bheil iad comhla fhathast? Tha iad a' cordadh rium co-dhiu!

(English: does anyone know if they are still together? I enjoy them anyhow!)

  • They are still together though Donnie Munroe (sp) has gone into Politics the lead singer is a guy from Cape Brennan Island Nova Scotia Called Bruce Guthro.

He's good but the jury is still out to who is better.

  • Moim zdaniem Donnie byl duzo lepszy (In my opinion Donnie was much better). Janek

  • Moim zdaniem Donnie jest duzo lepszy (in my opinion Donnie is much better). Janek

  • its actually Cape Bretan Island, Nova Scotia

  • Cape Breton. With an "o."

  • woops I actually realised that like 20mins after putting this up haha, thanks tho man!

  • Freakin' beautiful place, Cape Breton.

  • Some English peeps appreciate Runrig! Missed the summer tour due to holidays, but flying up to Glasgow for RCH Friday evening ;-)

  • Haha Pretentious how?, with a comment like that you must be fuckin english ;)

    Runrig boot arse nae shite!

  • I mean it comes across as affected. The English lyrics seem to me recycled from classic Gaelic song and have been sadly lost in translation. If you listen to recordings of say, Calum Kennedy, you're always struck by his sincerity, which comes across without force and without Runrig-esque grace notes and breathiness. Best of all, he never felt the need to close his eyes to convey the intensity of meaning in the lyrics!

In response to your obnoxious comment, I'm from the Isle of Lewis

  • i actually think that donnie is a much better singer than bruce

  • Never been able to see the attraction of this band- they're all really talented musicians but it just makes me cringe when they start singing their silly, cliched, pretentious songs. They've got some staying power though, I'll give them that!

  • we need to get donnie back just to get him off the island. gets a bit boring seeing him most days on the street. it aint the same without a scotsman on lead vocals. but i would never have him sing the national anthem again. he sings the wrong version

  • fuckin love runrig :D seen them in loch lomond many years ago and even now with bruce there AMAZING!!!

  • Love this band's sound!

    Jeannemarie

  • i agree that Bruce has slotted in so well with the guys... but Donnie made Runrig. since he left it hasnt been the same, however the more i see them live and listen to Bruce, it makes me realise him and Donnie both suited diff songs....

    Runrig forever!

  • Sorry guys, there is only one Runrig,

    the one with Donny.

    Bruce is someone else ,

    and so are Runrig now.

can't help but say that they are piggybacking .

  • i agree that runig is different with bruce they have a much wider appeal they couldn't sell out crowds of 17 thousand people with donnie. the differance betwen bruce and donnie is that donnie munro thought he was runrig Bruce Guthro is Runrig!!!

  • Katy, Each to his own . Can't agree with that though. Bruce speaks with a strange tang to Scottish words, very un-natural I find. Perhaps that's what appeals to you ?

  • Wallace, you may not like his tang but i love it is what gives runrig it unique sound that they never had with donnie

  • Looking forward to seeing the bouys on October 16th!!! Can't wait

  • Excellent clip - one of the best performances of older material by Bruce that I've seen!

I've been a fan since 1987 when they played Aston Uni.

It has taken me a long time to get used to Bruce compared to Donnie, especially singing the older material, but his voice suits songs like empty glens - just fantastic.

We have to live with the fact that Donnie left, and celebrate and enjoy the new lineup!

  • Bruce is from Cape Breton and about 10 min. from me. When it first became known he was the new lead singer for Runrig, everybody's first reaction was "What the hell is a Runrig?"

  • bruce, a lovely lad, but he just can't sing like Donnie!

  • As an American of Scot descent, rather than a Scot, I give my opinion with some humility. Runrig, with or without Donnie, is the greatest band in the world. Instead of making comparisons of Runrig before and after Donnie, rejoice in the good fortune of Scotland to have such poets and musicians, and rejoice in your own good fortune that your ancestors, unlike mine, were able to remain in the most beautiful country of Europe, which I love.

  • Too True my American "Good Buddy"

  • jdm4423, we are all Scots so long as the blood of Wallace and Bruce flows through our hearts, no matter where you go in the world, and I speak as an exiled Scot from Glasgow, Scotland never leaves you and I am sure it never left your ancestors either.God bless.

  • I remember when I was young (10-11 years old) and we had this music competition every friday so the pupils had to bring along their favorite cd's and for almost 10 months I came with all the Runrig cd's I had... But I always lost, I guess you got to be wise to appreciate music like this !

  • ohh please go back to Runrig Donnie!!

  • Donnie Munro? He is a cringeworthy Unionist and an embarassment to Scotland. He wouldn't even sing the last verse of 'Flower of Scotland' at Hampden because it was "extreme nationalistic".

  • No you fucking cock he did sing it that was Peter Wisheart the prick that was talking shit. So get ur facts right u stupid fucking knoc.

  • Alba gu bragh!saor Alba......

  • The band is now better than ever. And that is the influence of Bruce, too. Have you heard Brian Hurren singing?

The "new" songs with Bruce are full of power and harmony. The time of the band with Donnie Munro was extraordinarily good. Now they are not the same, but as good as before. Listen to "Book of golden stories" and now, what i mean!

  • No teneis ni idea: Bruce le da mil patadas en el culo a Donnie, q ademas es un traidor. Larga vida a Runrig

  • i know what people mean about bruce not being as good as donnie, but they're just different. Bruce sings life is, the only rose, and the old boys like donnie nevr cud have, bt donnie did some of theold songs a lot better than bruce does

  • august loch lomond bring it on canny wait ,Bruce is brill

  • You mean Loch Ness surely!

  • yep sorry ,its a women thing but i canny wait nine the less !!

  • How dare you say that their not better just a totally different band now, I mean the lead singer replacements a massive thing I actually in my own opinion and this just me saying this I LOVE THEM soo much more Bruce brings the best out of the lads especially Malcolm hes my idol now totally!!

  • lets face it peeps runrig are garbage without donnie..

  • muta should be muted..lol

  • I was at this gig nah how dare you say Donnie was a traitor it took a load of guts to leave Runrig I bet I'm really a fan of Donnie for just being him and Bruce and Runrig I just cant get enough of em its really cool and I am 25, I love the Riggies too its great we think of ourselves as a community in which we are!

  • I agree, Donnie is NOT Runrig. Donnie chose to leave. The current lead singer is very good, but different.

  • yaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy... you got it!

  • I stopped buying their albums after Donnie left!

    Come back Donnie!

  • Great song but come back Donnie

  • runrig at loch ness in august cummon

  • Donnie certainly is NOT Runrig. Calum is the main man.

Runrig is more about the nusic, not the singer.

  • what you mean Donnie is a traitor!!! donnie was the man!!

he left because of personnel reasons, so he can't be a traitor as he never joined another band!

And if it wasn't for him, there would be no Runrig

  • Brilliant! One of the most under rated bands ever

  • AMAZING!!

    I love this song!

    Runrig is great!

    " 'S na horo eile "

    Mar sin leat!

  • That is not Runrig Runrig..Donnie IS Runrig

Music by the magnificent brothers and sung by DM

    that is Runrig

  • donnie is a traitor

  • I think Donnie's voice is better suited for that song, but they are both great singers nevertheless...

  • Skye is a girly name for the hell

  • ........................SKYE!!!!! AHHH!!! THANKYOU FOR UPLOADING THIS!!! *watches in awe* I've loved their music for a while now.... but never seen them play.... *is in love* *worships*
