  • Going to play this again after I update my rig to I5 thanks for the upload :)

  • "(PCSX2 still used only 2 cores back when I recorded this)"

And how many does it use now? I remember guys at the forum saying it will never use more than two and maybe leave one to OS.

  • @fwlzdxil I believe it can use 3 now. Last year they added a new speed hack called MTVU (Multi-Threaded microVU1 option, which runs VU1 on its own thread)

  • @flankerF37 Oh, bummer. I was hoping they'd implement some full-blown multithreaded scaling or something. Looks like brutal gigahertz is still the way to go as far as emulation is concerned.

  • wow, you surely have a damn strong machine, dont you

  • Damn, how did pcsx2 not crash for you?? Everytime I want to start the game it crashes...

  • @Hamstergeval You may need to use the Tri-ace boot crash game fix (at least I did back when I played it). Look for the game fixes section in the emulator, and activate that one.

  • Hey, can you help me configure for it? I'm getting pretty slow framerates and sometimes there are places that the graphics are all messed up.

I got a i7 930 + GTX470, 6GB ram... do you think I can get it to work like you? are you using the original gamedisk or a backup? what Directx are you using? (9, 10 or 11?). Any specific plugin?

    thanks!

  • @triguntrigun Sure I'd be happy to help. Your setup sounds fine (assuming you overclocked your cpu). I used the last released official plugins (at the time) and DirectX 10. I played an iso rip from my US copy (disc would have been fine too, but shorter loads from the hard drive). Some areas will look buggy (mainly that first forest area, but after that it should be good). Try also using the latest svn versions (0.9+), it added the MTVU (Multi-Threaded microVU1) option, which might help out.

  • hey do you think my computer can play this game like your computer? my computer specs are:

    cpu: intel i5 @ 2.30ghz 4 cpus

    RAM: 4gb DDR3

    Video: Ati Radeon 4600HD

and if i could play it like you, how did you configure it? i habe the pscx2 0.9.8 r4600, and it plays awfully, at good speed, but awful graphics, thank you in advance

  • @ruisu1357 Your cpu should be good, though overclocking would help (since emulators need like 3+ GHz generally). Since you it was running well, your cpu may be good enough. However to get a nicer image requires running the game at multiple times (2x, 3x, etc) native rez. This is controlled in the Video plugin (usually Gsdx). However, to run at higher resolutions requires a strong gpu. I'm not entirely sure but I believe the 4600 series is a low-mid range card, and might not be fast enough.

  • @flankerF37 thanks, i manage to make to look a little better, it isn't the same quality as yours, but its good enough thanks

  • @ruisu1357 That's great to hear, hope you enjoy the game!

  • @flankerF37: What are your specs?

  • @OmegaMetroid93 I updated the details for the video to include the specs.

  • Man im getting 2fps when i try to play this game....

Could u help me configure it so i can at least play a little bit?

    Im using pcsx2 098 on a i5 3ghz

    Thx

  • @leennely Hmm, 2fps definitely sounds like something's very wrong. Ive helped a few others in these comments, so i would glance thru them for any ideas. Also there is a VP2 pcsx2 wikia page that has details on game performance and bugs, check that out too. Otherwise the main possible problems I can think of are the PAL issue (details on it and the fix are on the wikia page i mentioned) or that your resolution/AA is too high for your GPU. Hope these suggestions help to narrow down things.

  • @flankerF37

Well i have change hardware to software(or was the oposite) and it runs a little bit faster but still below 10fps...i didnt know about the wikia page ill check out for sure.

About resolution and AA they are in the emulator´s normal setting.

I´m gonna try the wikia and let u know what it turns out

  • @leennely Yeah, that is a good place to start. I would check that you are using hardware setting for video (software is usually more compatible and accurate, but you would require a very fast CPU with lots of cores for it to be faster than hardware/GPU based video). Let me know how it goes, and hopefully you can get it up to speed.

  • hey dude, could you say your emulator config, cause i tried some config i found in google, and my games looks like crap, i guess my pc config is good enough to run like yours

    my pc:

    processor: core i5 2nd gen

    RAM: 4gb DDR3

    video card: GTS 450

  • @misticalform I think your cpu should be fast enough (as long as its ~3.5 GHz and up). But what resolution are you trying to run the game at? a gts 450 might not be high end enough for 1080p. I would try running at native resolution to see if your cpu can handle full speed, then increase the resolution multiple to whatever your gpu can handle. Also try enabling the recommended speed-hacks, they can help sometimes.

  • @flankerF37 hey, first thank you for replying , i will run some tests again today , cause my friends told me it can be because my monitor resolution is full HD, so i should low the res in my pc, in 3x native the emulator still runs cool but the graphics aren´t beautiful as it should be, above that i had some lag, the strange is that the fps indicator shows that the game is still running at 60 fps, cheers

  • @misticalform No problem, glad to be of help when I can. I have received messages before about the 60fps showing but not feeling like full speed before. I'm not sure if it's b/c field movement feels a little sluggish (it does for me as well), and I can't remember what it was like on PS2. The best place to check for true (and most hindering) lag would be in battles. Anyway, almost everyone I have made suggestions to has got their game playable for them. So hoping the same will happen for you

  • how did you manage to make the game work in PCSX2? I heard it doesn't work.

  • @sixtysixsix I didn't do anything in particular as VP2 has been working (for the most part) for a while now with newer versions. Not sure where you heard it didn't work.

Search for the PCSX2 VP2 wikia page to see for yourself. It shows that most of the game works fine, what computer specs are recommended, and what the 2 main errors found in the game are (neither of which are game breaking, and one can be solved in software mode).

Hope that answers your question :)

  • @flankerF37 what valkyrie profile did you use? did you download it somewhere or did you use an original game disc?

  • @sixtysixsix I ripped the iso from my US/NTSC copy of the game and mounted that in the emulator (to reduce load times), but you could also play straight from the disc/DVD if you wanted to.

  • @flankerF37 ok thanks. btw, do you think that versions downloaded from the internet will work?

  • nice!!!

  • @jibs96 Thanks!, glad you liked it.

  • It's slow in my AMD X2 +5200 2.9 GHZ Dual core why? :(

  • @WaseemDarkness It's slow because you're using an AMD X2 +5200 2.9 GHZ Dual Core.

  • I wanna play this game in my PC :( but my PC is AMD +5200 2.9 GHZ it's so slow in my PC

  • Amazing quality! I wish my PC was strong enough to run PCSX2

  • so cool!

  • @hoshikudaki Thanks!, glad you liked it
