Well its an incredible metaphor given that it is almost identical to what David did, he had the soldier sent to the front line before making his move and stealing his wife. Mugabe had Marufu who incidentally was in the airforce(soldier) sent to China before making his move and stealing his wife. Anyhow, it's powerful and coincidental metaphor but as the writer your word is final when you say it was about this and not that.
Just so I understand this track is comparing Mugabe to amongst others David in the Bible. It's a well put together track but unfortunately it distorts the truth. Mugabe was never a great or selfless leader but a cynical oppotunist who used and killed people around him to gain power and then used that power to murder tens of thousands of people and destroy an entire nation. What is happening in Zimbabwe is not an act of God but a product of arrogance and ignorance.
again... this is an ALLEGORY about KING DAVID in the Bible...
This is an allegory about Leaders in general, especially african leaders. The Batheseaba element is NOT a literal "Woman", its the infatuation with the cultures and customs of foreign lands, example and Savile Row suits, love for all things Regal and BRITISH... Money and Power, fine clothes and pride in his "Academics" and previledge.
Don't look for red herrings. Metaphor not literal.
Nice song, very catchy but the problems of Zimbabwe can not be chalked down to simply that Mugabe stole grace from another man and thus the country has to suffer in order to teach him a lesson. This is the hidden implication which listeners don't get in your song. I can admit that it was a starting point for Things to go bad in Zim.But great song, well done.
It has nothing to do with Mugabe taking any one. This is an allegory about Leaders in general, especially african leaders. The Batheseaba element is NOT a literal "Woman", its the infatuation with the cultures and customs of foreign lands, example Mugabe being patron of the cricket club and Savile Row suits, his love for all things Regal and BRITISH... Money and Power, fine clothes and pride in his "Academics" and previledge.
Don't look for red herrings. Metaphor not literal.
An interesting hiphop allegory fused with Zimbabwean Mbira Dzevadzimu (Instruments of the Ancestors)about the Fallen King David... which as the story goes on, blurs into similar sounding themes that are affecting our current crop of "Kings" in the Motherland. The play of words and characters (like Bathsheba, the coveted wife of another man) symbolising our "Kings" fascination with all things regal and foreign including money, religion & processions. A great piece of music and poetry!

Great concept! History does rewind. Great take on the story of David and all the current "Fallen Kings".
