  • was this at the midland theatre kc. mo ? If it was I was there...

  • Shit. She's good

  • She STILL is rockin' !

  • I love this song!!!

  • I love this song!!!

  • February 6, 1983 at the Fremont Theatre in San Luis Obispo, CA Bonnie Raitt and friends performed at a rally for Solar Power and anti-nuke. At the time I was working for SolarWest Electric, the creators of SolarGennyOne, along with Ty Braswell and folks. The SolarGenny provided all of the power for this concert. During the concert, Bonnie who is one of the most beautiful Woman of All Time, called me out on stage and sang happy birthday to me. My God, I was in Heaven. Loved her before/forever

  • I'd follow this in to the mists of avalon

  • This is a great video...love it! She is such a great lady of music...loved watching this tonight :) Thanks for the share, my Friend xo

    Annie

  • NTRANLITE,

All music is worth listening to. I am a 55yr man who like all music. Classic to rap. Rapsody in Blue to Eminem, Mozart to Metal, Robert Johnson to Lady Gaga. All of it is worth listening to if you match it to your mood.....

  • Videos like this make me wish I were born in a different era when music was real and worth listening to :(

  • I don't know anything about Adele.. I love Bonnie Raitt !

  • If Adele is the best Britain has to offer, god help us.

  • They don't know what music is until they can sing like this with such heart.... Bonnie Raitt is a Great artist...

  • too rite mate

  • man she is so good

  • Is that Art Garfunkel on guitar? Didn't know he could play.

  • @yitzielliot I thought it was art garfunkel as well. He is a wacky cat!

  • combination of Fergie and Jesus

  • @kooj22 The Black Eyed Peas' singer or the Duchess of York? ;-)

  • I just lost a friend yesterday and this was our theme song. We loved eachother as brother and sister. We were thick as theives back then but people always asumed. Remember folks to asume is to make an ass of youeself things ain't always as they seem. R.I.P. Paul Glaser

  • Stay golden pony boy

  • WoW!!! She's the best!

  • This song holds a strange place in my heart - I was falling in love with the last girl I've really loved, ten years ago, and everybody knew it before we did. Through a rough turn of events, she's married to my best friend now. I remember hearing this song once, when we were starting to date.

  • Help yea step brothers made me want this song

  • Step brothers brang me here.,,:)

  • 65 people have never done anything worth talking about.

  • step brothers<3 will ferrell goes harder

  • I don't know, its just I didn't wanna sing too loud cause I didn't wanna wake up Robert and Nancy, my throats sore, I've had a sore throat for a month and a half and this is not an acoustic environment that is suitable to request this from ME.

  • Will Ferrell's beats this!

  • @swfchutch12 Never!!!! This Lady rocks.

  • there is no comparison bonnie is bonnie and adele is a adele two different people

  • patous2

I think, that you can't put as the absolut high top that can't be reached by other musicians or band.

    Please don't get me wrong.....

This is a very, very, very great performance even to me.....very professional "AAA" even "AAA+"

But let us leave the "Opinion Scale Open" just like the "Richter Scale"

so that others musicians can atleast try to top this "High Quality Pro"

    peformance.

Bonnie, Europe is waiting for you.........honor us with your music and band

  • flash from the past

  • the best,,, wow,,,smoooooth,,,dare ya to find another-to equel this

  • Bonnie is an angel from heaven...sexy velvet voice and slide guitarist...she leaves me speechless..saw her at the Hollywood Bowl..she smoked everyone..hats off to you dear lady..love you...TL

  • ditto randomguy

  • Brennan Huff sings it better

  • @BIGDAZR

    ur ridiculous

  • Does anyone know when and where this was recorded?

  • Send this to a friend and she will melt. Before you know it she'll be more than a friend. Thanks Bonnie

  • cool!

  • Great slide player. Talent.

  • Man, I can't put my finger on it but I find Bonnie the most sexy female entertainer in the business. Certainly not the prettiest or gonna win a hot bod contest but the way she handles the guitart and moves with it has me almost... oh never mind!

  • there's only 1 Bonnie Raitt--no one else comes close.

  • @snowy16100 true, she plays one mean slide & love her raspy voice!

  • sweet blue strat

  • she's the reason i picked up a strat when i was 10 i got the red hair too lol i just thought she was so fucking cool 15 years later i still think she's the baddest bitch to ever pick up a guitar and i mean that with respect

  • everytime i hear this song i think of a girl i know

  • Um... they both are blues/blues-y vocalists, so they use their voices kind of in the same ways at times. I like them both but I don't think they sound much alike. Maybe because I listen to a lot of blues singers? At any rate, Bonnie is true to the game, so to speak. I've always dug her entire vibe.

  • Come on Daniel, Let's give them all something to talk about !!

  • anyone else notcie how the capo just magically apears in the shot?

  • @Sarahzylstra07 Hey nothing 'magical' about the capo appearance.. Bonnie puts it on after the solo. There's a key-change there with no guitar, a kind of 'Bridge'.. She looks down around 2:29 as she puts the capo on, you see it by 2:35 as she adjusts it., then it's 'magically' there all of a sudden.. Look closely and you'll see what I mean! My reckoning is that her guitar's tuned to an open Ab maj chord.. the key change takes the song up into B maj, thus the capo at the 3rd fret, Yo! Px :))

  • Awesome.

  • This song ignites my senses, thank you Bonnie!

  • One of my favorite songs. Turn the speaker up and go wherever it takes you. Gotta love the xx chromosomes. I would like to see her and Tina Turner do something together. Who would you put in the mix with Bonnie and Tina to make a concert?

  • @arob661 Don't know about the Tina Turner thing, but the "turn it up", and the xx chromosomes (could throw some pheromones into that mix)...know where it takes me.

  • ahhhh how time flys (;

  • damn look at bonnie play that slide she makes me proud to be a female gutair player i think she's the best chick guitar player she's cool as hell and mad pretty for an older woman

  • it's funny cuz now she's a patient in my mom's office

  • I always love to give 'em something to talk about...If they're talkin about me they're giving someone a rest! ;)

  • Hey, I have loved Bonnie since the mid seventies.she is a bit like our game of rugby......The best their is but dont tell the arseholes about it! love you gal

  • love it!

  • Does anyone know where this video was recorded? It looks so much like the Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville where I've seen Bonnie several times. Best concert ever by the way! Love Bonnie!

  • love this song ,, !! they always wanna talk !! well !!

  • like if step brothers brought u here

  • Its one thing to know the path and another to walk it...

  • i like when brendon sings it better ^_^

  • interesting discussion about Br and Adele --who I think is just great. To me Adele's smokey, plaintive voice reminds me .of the late, great Dusty.Springfield. To me, the contemporary singer that you can tell listened to a couple of thousand of Bonnie Raitt tunes is blues powerhouse Susan Tedeschi.

  • i like the will ferell version better haha

  • step brothers.. lol

  • @Sushiguy13

Apples & Pears. Both good in their own way. I agree - why bother comparing.

  • a new fan...

  • wow,,,'member this one!!!!

  • Does anyone else think Bonnie Raitt sounds like Adele? (Adele sang the song "Rolling In The Deep"). When I first heard the "Rolling In The Deep" song, I was certain it was Bonnie Raitt singing it. I was surprised to find out it was not her.

  • @randomguy1882 Actually, it would be that Adele sounds like Bonnie Raitt since Bonnie is older and has been around in this industry far longer. The younger/newer always sounds like their "predecessor". As far as sounding like each other - they have their clear differences but they do have a little similarities....but I wouldn't go confusing the two, personally.

  • @1luvlygrl You are totally correct. It would be more accurate to say that Adele sounds like Bonnie Raitt. I only put it in the order that I did because this video is of Bonnie and so I was focusing more on her, and thus I put her name first in my comment. Howver, looking at my comment again, I do see how it came across the wrong way (kind of as if Bonnie is some sort of copy of Adele ... of which she obviously is not).

Bonnie Raitt is greatness. Maybe in time, Adele can hope for the same.

  • @randomguy1882 Hey, sorry to have to say this but I don't think Adele sounds anything like Bonnie and why bother with comparisons anyway? Bonnie's a boogie-mama who's been bluesing it out on the circuit for about 4 decades. Adele's some chick from South London who's made a couple of records and, while she's OK and don't get me wrong I got nothing against her, isn't in the same league at all. Let Adele learn to rock out solid for another 20 years or so before making any comparisons eh.. Px :))

  • @pixiemark7 In regards to whether or not they sound similar, I think that watching a video of Adele or Bonnie kind of distorts one's view of if they sound alike. It causes you to see that they are not the same person. It was when I originally heard Adele's song on the radio and didn't know who it was, that I was guessing it was Bonnie singing. After I had seen the video of Adele singing the song, then somehow I didn't quite visualize Bonnie singing it as I diid when I first heard it on the radio

  • @pixiemark7 NAILED IT!!!!!!

  • @pixiemark7 I agree with not comparing the two. However, I think Adele is more of a mixture between r&b and soul. I love Bonnie, and I like Adele too. They're just two different sounds

  • @pixiemark7 totally agree.

  • @pixiemark7 will ferell sings it better

  • @pixiemark7 Yeah, I agree Adele is not on the same level as Bonnie Raitt. It's just that the first time I heard the song by Adele of "Rolling In The Deep" that I thought it was Bonnie singing that song! I bet if Bonnie were to sing the same song that she would sound very similar to Adele.

However, I don't know if she would sound like Adele if she sang a different song, but I do think she would if she (Bonnie) specifically sang the "Rolling In The Deep" song.

  • @randomguy1882 Hey,amazed this debate is still running! Funnily enough I heard a bit of Adele on the radio the other day and kinda realized what you've been getting at.. there is a Bonnie-ish edge in there somewhere. I'm not very familiar with Adele myself, though I did feel she wrecked the 'Feel My Love' song which I much prefer by Garth Brooks..still she has a powerful voice and is young enough to become a legend in time I guess. Here's to Bonnie though.. still one of the best EVER!! Px :))

  • Thumbs up if you found this song after watching Step Brothers

  • she took the shape of an unicorn when she was singing

  • baby should we clue them in....naw the ones that matter know who u are...

  • God bless Bonnie

  • I'm seeing her tomorrow!

  • Like this if you looked this up because of step brothers

  • Love ya Bonnie!

  • I LOVE Bonnie~♥

  • I used to love to smile and sing this... sweet times.

  • as a female guitar player i look up to this woman so much

  • She's from Bakersfield, CA, and She can Rock!! I'd love to see her and Cheryl Crow do a duet album. Just imagine them and Janice Joplin jammin

  • Bonnie Raitt and Josh Homme, sexiest rockin' Gingers ever!

  • The only red head I ever really loved

  • I always though she was from Alabama, Tennessee or some other southern state. She's got that country vibe about her. Had no idea she was a California native.

  • Stepbrothers hahaha,"let's give them something to talk about, how about love, luuve, LOVE skiperdielove....aaah".

  • love this song

  • Love to me is all about a woman that can play those six strings and move her body like the guitar is a part of her ,,like Prince does..

  • I want to tea bag her drum set

  • *LOL* Tim92G......that's awesome :)

  • Thank You for sharing :)

  • thumbs up if stepbrothers brought you here!

  • Yeah!

  • I'd tap dat

  • awesome

  • I LOVE THIS SONG AND Bonnie Raitt!!!

  • Never mind the fact that she is dam hot; She can play and sing!! God I love the red hair!!

  • I liked this so much I bought the CD of 'Road Tested', and was surprised to find the same song, same players, same arrangement... but a (very slightly) different recording - I presume from one of the other nights of the tour. Just about as good as this, though it misses the particularly lovely phrase at 2:09 - 2:11 in the guitar break here.

  • Taylor swift should listen to this shit and learn a thing or two.

  • One of the best singers of the world.

  • Step Brothers ruined this song for me. Ever since I saw that movie I think of Will Ferrell whenever this song comes on.

  • How can anybody DISlike this? It's perfection. If you're not a Bonnie fan, your loss, move along, just don't criticise what you can't understand.

  • @fearlissimo I wonder why "Something to Talk About" wasn't a hit in the UK? Some of her lesser hits in the US made the top 50 in the UK, like "I Can't Make You Love Me" and "Rock Steady."

  • I COULD LISTEN TO THIS WOMAN ALL DAY LONG, SHE HAS WHAT IT TAKES , YES I DO THINK SHE IS ALSO SEXY ASS HELL.ALSO.

  • Shes like a combination of Fergie and Jesus

  • @Tim92G but...Fergie is horrible...

  • @flinstonesrule5 It's a funny line from the movie step brothers

  • @Tim92G this made me LOL, but in a good way ;)

  • @Tim92G Step brothers hahah xDD

  • And you are a combination of beckham and sting...

  • @Tim92G Hahahhaa Goood One man!

  • Sexy voice' Bizarre hair.......Great attitude"

  • i remmeber my foster mom would play this song like crazy

  • ow! i smell sexy summer! x

  • @MissJennyLucy That's the percussionist playing the congas and other percussion instuments with her hands.... NOT the drummer! The drummer is playing with sticks!

  • what a pitty than mark knopfler prefered to play with emylou harris than bonnie ... :(

  • Did anyone else notice the drum player was using her hands??? That's cool!

  • @RocksInTheToilet ... that's not the drummer! The percussionist is playing with her hands (congas, other percussion instuments, etc...) - the drummer is using sticks (and it's a 'he')

  • Is she using a glass or a metal slide for her fingers?

  • bonnie raitt and rory block, woman experts of blues guitar. love them!

  • I could listen to this over and over and over and over and over and over . . . .

  • Miranda Taylor Miley who the hell are you,to think for a second that youre this good?

  • no one else can sing her songs she is so awesome!!

  • Uh, damn. That voice! That tone!

I wanna make love to ya woman, I wanna lay ya down by the fire!!!

  • Aww, suki suki, nah! Gotta love that beautiful Miss Bonnie and her soulful voice!

  • @shellenj - she puts the capo on at 2.37

  • @sorenutube Hey, you're right.. she does put the capo on around 2.37 after starting the song without one on. It's interesting as the song's in key of Ab but after the1st slide solo the key changes up to B, an interval of a minor 3rd.. she puts the capo on the 3rd fret, also a raise of 3 semitones.. a mi 3rd.. I'm not a slide player myself so not sure why she needs to do that as she's obviously in an open-tuning anyway.. I wonder? I was playing along so didn't notice the capo thing, Px :))

  • @pixiemark7 I don't know, but Bonnie knows *exactly* what she's doing with that slide....tearing up hearts and making folks horny! lol

  • Bonnie Raitt is 100% sexy!!!

  • Comment removed

  • if u came here cause of step brothers hit the thumbs up!

  • I love Bonnie, when I saw her in concert many years ago I just knew she would ask me to come up and sing with her! LMAO! I'm such a big fan I sang every word to every song. Wow, the dreams of a young girl and the memory of a not so young stay at home mom! Who loves to sing! :)

  • @yulebrenner1906 So who cares if your are green, pink, from Mars, or whatever.... My Borther, she writes about real people and how we act. I love her tunes. She sings her truth and we feel it. That's what it is all about! I love a brown-eyed man. When I look at him, I see someone very special. We all bleed the same; we all weep the same; we all seek our joy! Good for you., you made a good choice. :-)

  • @yulebrenner1906 You're right, it doesn't matter. She rocks and it's awesome that he's got a sold fan base.

  • @yulebrenner1906 you're right... it doesn't matter. Good music should be enjoyed by everyone... the heck with color and culture and everything else... just enjoy!

  • @yulebrenner1906 If you like this,,Get her Album, :The Glow"..Its by far her best! I have been a fan since the late 60s! Te glow came out in 1977 i think? It is bluesey and amazing!! she uses Little Feat as her band,,amazing!! Let me know how you like it! the song, the glow, makes you feel like you are in a club in chicago....andthere are some other killer blues tunes!! enjoy my girl!! From her lil sister(thats what she calls me,as we look alike:)

  • She puts on a capo for the las16 bars. Never noticed that before.
