You explain and demonstrate excellently: thank you. I find watching your videos, especially on my weak points, really improves my play. (You've almost broken my habit of reversing my rkt for taking b/h net kills!)
I think a not so talented player with good form will beat a strong player with bad form anyday, you get less tired with the right movements because they are effortless.
what is not allowed is to take the racket backwards after it has already started its forward motion. reducing the speed of the racket head is very much allowed.
The current guideline for serves is that it has to be below your first rib bone according to the Badminton World Federation (or whatever the name of that organization is)
Low Serves is key to winning the Attacking System in Doubles because it forces the opponent to either hit a clear which forces a smash/deceptive drop shot or challenge you with a net shot which usually is an easy net kill.
The serving rule below the waist is really a "gray area". Different organizations implement different rules on this about where exactly is below the waist, anatomy wise. Some might say the racquet must be below the waist and some might say the point of impact with the shuttle is the one that's should be below the waist. It really depends on the umpire, considering you are playing with a fair umpire, is he/she thinks your serve is fine or not.
i love using the low deceptive serve, ive been using it forever and it works great. occasionally you can completely throw off your opponent and win the point outright
wow! thank you!!!

Yeah, but I don't think it's over.
It's not the rachet, it's the place where the shuttle makes contact with the rachet.
