Mine used to do that too! Maybe it needs a roomier cage, or to play outside more? I hamster proofed my room and let mine go outside for an hour every night and she has stopped chewing on the bars.

holy! that's the same thing my hamster did when it escaped! that's why there's a big hole on my wall and I had to get him out by giving him his fav treat! and then my dad had to patch the wall cause of the big huge hole! and your hamster looks pretty big!!
