Cheap guitar (~$100US) + decent strings (new Martin bronze-coated)... + little processing as mentioned in the description (NI Guitar Rig 1.1 I believe).

Great, but Breathe is all chords so I don't understand why you're playing notes.

I think he's just generally playing arpeggios of the chords so therefore he is just playing notes that exist inside the chords.
