This is (don't shoot me) me favourite of the openings, personally. it's so...I dunno chilling, especially with the (what to you call it) the two notes that repeat throughout the song through the bits where she's riding te bike and there were faces in the sky, I dunno I think it fits well ^_^

^__^ NaviStarfire, you just described EXACTLY how I felt at that part, too!! I think the song and video together work hard to get us to feel exactly that same feeling. It's beautiful; Higurashi is amazing, and so is Umineko. It's awesome how Rika transcends her form from Higurashi.

I know what you mean. It's like soft techno-ish near the beginning, and the chorus gets all happy and bittersweet, and it's dark but also cheery at the same time...
