The Barnnet formula is a fraud because it does not account for north sea oil revenues, it classes some funding as "non identifiable expenditures" That means paid on behalf of Scotland but not in Scotland, like the Olympic games, defence, £50 Billion high speed trains. But for example, they pay for the Commonwealth Games, this is reported in PESA. PESA classifies all the expenditure associated with the Commonwealth Games as being identifiable to Scotland and only beneficial to Scotland.

And Westminster will be reluctant to give the English their sovereignty back, because English sovereignty lies within the English parliament (a non-entity since 1707).

What annoys me is people think Scotland is alone in all this. This is how everyone thinks outside SE England. Most of this stuff can be applied to anywhere outside of Central London. If Scotland goes they are leaving us in the shit, and yet Scotland will still be answerable to London in the event it takes up Sterling, or Brussels in the event it takes up the Euro.
This 'us and them' attitude needs to stop. United we can bring real change.
@Azog150 I think most Scots realise this, but this is the only chance we have to get out of it. With FPTP and our small size, we have no real say over Westminster (the occasional Scottish PM aside, since they're all part of the three Tory parties). Westminster is now a one party-system, in effect. In Holyrood we have an SNP majority, which highlights the stark differences between the countries. England needs a left-of-centre party.
I wouldn't blame you for voting Yes. I would be pretty distraught though. Scotland rejected AV (I know its not ideal but better then FPTP) as overwhelmingly as England did.
I still think DevoMax and a fully Federal UK would be the best of both worlds.

I wear a kilt when attending a wedding. I celebrate Hogmanay, sometime with a 'loony dook'. I celebrate Burns night with haggis, whisky and some of the best poetry ever written. I have visited our historical landmarks. I have been to the Tattoo, Up Helly Aa and numerous festivals. Any you dare say we have no culture? Shame on you.

The Barnnet formula is a fraud because it does not account for north sea oil revenues, it classes some funding as "non identifiable expenditures" That means paid on behalf of Scotland but not in Scotland, like the Olympic games, defence, £50 Billion high speed trains. But for example, they pay for the Commonwealth Games, this is reported in PESA. PESA classifies all the expenditure associated with the Commonwealth Games as being identifiable to Scotland and only beneficial to Scotland.

@skipskops You're right, it probably would give England the kick in the arse it needs, and finally get it's own parliament reconvened, as England can't seem to do it on it's own, probably because the English are 'Subjects' in English common law and are not 'Sovereign' like the Scots are as enshrined within Scots law.
And Westminster will be reluctant to give the English their sovereignty back, because English sovereignty lies within the English parliament (a non-entity since 1707).

What annoys me is people think Scotland is alone in all this. This is how everyone thinks outside SE England. Most of this stuff can be applied to anywhere outside of Central London. If Scotland goes they are leaving us in the shit, and yet Scotland will still be answerable to London in the event it takes up Sterling, or Brussels in the event it takes up the Euro.
This 'us and them' attitude needs to stop. United we can bring real change.

@Azog150 I think most Scots realise this, but this is the only chance we have to get out of it. With FPTP and our small size, we have no real say over Westminster (the occasional Scottish PM aside, since they're all part of the three Tory parties). Westminster is now a one party-system, in effect. In Holyrood we have an SNP majority, which highlights the stark differences between the countries. England needs a left-of-centre party.

I wouldn't blame you for voting Yes. I would be pretty distraught though. Scotland rejected AV (I know its not ideal but better then FPTP) as overwhelmingly as England did.
I still think DevoMax and a fully Federal UK would be the best of both worlds.
