  • TJW. hi. tks , i was thinking this sunday oh if i only have a rigth color and here you have it just perfect . i will by this colors and makes me a nice beautiful pillow case , ist going to be pretty , and looking this disign , came out just like it a quilt ... Heaven! and a beautiful ! . for a blanquet..... great videos a 1.000000000.00 stars and more .

  • @StFrancisChurch Thank you. :)

  • @hotdog1997 Yarn bobbins are used for many colors. You can use yarn balls as well. I will say that if you are using a lot of colors, your work starts to get heavy and it will get twisted up using it from the yarn skein. I do like yarn balls with a rubberband to hold the yarn in place.

  • Do you do the same with three colors please tell

  • @baby26girl It will be the same no matter how many colors you use.

  • Theresa, I follow your videos and make many of your patterns. I love your vids because they are easy to follow and clear. I want to make an elephant (chart or graph) afghan for my future Grandson due in July. Do you know where I can find such patterns? She is using Safari theme and any animal chart patterns would work. Thanks in advance.

  • Are you stitching in the top stitch or underneath the top stitch?

  • There are two loops at the top of the stitch that you insert your hook through. The hook does go through the top of the stitch, below the two loops.

  • Yes, that's what I meant...changing colors to the stitches. I have the tendency to change yarn colors to my projects whenever I run out of the original color that I'm previously using. Thanks again!

  • How do you add in different colors to your stitches? Thanks.

  • What do you mean by adding in different colors to your stitches. Are you wanting to color blend with a cross stitch on top? This video shows one technique on changing colors.

  • I was just wondering why you use a bobin in the first place. . . I always make my yarn into balls after I buy it so its easier to carry and crochet from.

  • The balls will unwind and roll away. Not everyone roll their yarn in to balls. The yarn bobbins are used for chart crochet to change colors in several places on the project.

  • Iam trying to learn waching your video. Can you tellme how much yarn usaully wind ona bobin.Thanks. forgive me for my english. Rashmika.

  • I usually wind as much as it will hold.

  • Thank you.

    It came out wonderfull.

god bless you for all your work.

  • I just had the AH-HA moment! Thanks Teresa!

  • You are welcome. :)

  • I'm working on a graph pattern right now...I thought it was going to be easier than it is. I've never done this type before and I had to rip it out twice because it looked so sloppy...it still kinda looks sloppy, but certainly better than before!! I wish I had chosen an easier project!

  • I just completed a complex graph pattern myself. My problem is the color choices I made being to close in color but I am still going to show it soon. It is common for the stitches to be looser where you joined so they may take on a sloppy appearance when it is just a part of the process. You can tighten them up later when you sew in the tails or finish the back. Don't be hard on yourself and continue to crochet your piece. It will look fine.

  • When I chose a piece that had slightly less color variation, it looked a lot better! I'll keep plugging away at the harder one and just hope it turns out okay. I'll wait to see how it looks after it's been washed and everything is sewed in. It's about 1/3 of the way done.

  • I just need to learn how to make a long diamond shape for a crocheted Star Quilt....can you help me?

  • What kind of help are you looking for?

  • I would like to crochet instead of quilt a star quilt for my grandson. but the 'diamond' pattern needs be more length than width.

  • Still in a 6" square? I can make a graph to follow and post it on my crochet blog.

  • I guess I should have thought about what I was trying to say before I posted.... The diamond shape should look like a Marguis diamond shape... if you could help me with that i would very veyr much appreciate it.

  • what exactly is the yarn bobbin for?

  • They are used when you are creating a details shape or image with your crochet piece. It is for holding the yarn and to keep from cutting the yarn, making a lot of tails. If you are doing a shape, you can just pull the yarn up from the previous row and save yourself sewing in a bunch of tails later.

  • Is it possible to stitch together two different pieces of work? What I'm trying to say is...Can I stitch together two scarfs of the same length and width so that it is thicker?

  • Yes, once you have completed your two scarves, you can single crochet the edges together, joining the scarves.

  • Thank you soooooo much! Love AND appreciate the videos. Keep up the great work. :-)

  • Thank you. :)

  • Thank you for this video!! I have been struggling with color change, didn't understand about bobbins and had a mess going on. You have helped me a great deal. Question .. you are working with 3 bobbins, right ... 2 lighter color and the darker in the middle? I may be able to make this gift for my son after all. I was about ready to give up. Thank you again for all your help and great video!

  • You are welcome. Yes, there are three yarn bobbins with the dark color in the middle.

  • How do you make a shawl of different stitches I had one years ago but it got lost in moving I really did like that can you please show everyone out there how to make a shawl step by step? I would greatly appreciate it. the sizes would be from small med large to extra large I hope that you can help thank you .

  • I do have many different pattern stitches that can be adapted to create a custom shawl to your individual size. You can also find video tutorials for decreasing and increasing.

  • so, how do you know how much yarn to roll up in the bobbin? If the yarn is all use up do i attach another bobbin and continue? Or can i just roll a small yarn ball for each side? actually how many bobbins is use for this pattern?

  • You don't know how much you will need. I had that happen to me during the video. I wrapped more yarn around the bobbin and just tied in the new strand of yarn. You can use small balls of yarn instead if that works better for you. I had 3 yarn bobbins. I have a yarn bobbin template posted on my crochet blog.

  • You are an enormous help, thank you, I just can not get to grips with learning crochet from books, being show step by step is fantastic!!

  • You are welcome. :)

  • Please forgive me. You were SO clear now that I listen for the fifth time. Too early in the morning to learn a new crochet pattern I guess! LOL! I think I can do it, now...sorry to bother you!

  • You are never a bother.

  • My first comment must not have gone through. Is this supposed to be the same on either side so that both sides look nice, or like a tapestry with a mess on one side? With that question, you can imagine that I am having this very problem...LOL!

  • Both sides should look similar with the project I have done. There will be some slight differences or ridges at the joining of the new colors. That is how I learned to change colors. There may be other ways.

  • I didn't see when you brought up the 3rd yarn bobbin...I guess that is my problem, right? I need the main color to be connected on either side of the diamond? Sorry to be dense, but could you explain that to me a little more? Thanks so much!

  • Teresa, thanks for making this video!! I always wondered how this was made. You keep me motivated to try new things.

  • You are welcome. :)

  • do have written instructions? I mat have missed them

  • They are posted on my crochet blog. The link is to the right of the video below the words "MORE INFO"

  • i'll make different colurs and add it to my granny squares, thanks teresa!

  • You are welcome. :)

  • You really do have a knack for posting tutorials of what we're looking for at the right time!

  • Thank you. Several others have asked about this type of crochet. I really appreciate their patience while I have put together this tutorial.

  • that is so pretty

  • Thank you.
