Metal uses 4-6 pedals max. The fills are basic fills you'll learn in the first 3 months of playing just sped up.

Blast beats are nothing but holding the stick a certain way & bouncing it off the snare over & over.

Whereas Jazz are 10+ minute solo's using complicated technical fills all over the kit, even on cymbals.

Top Jazz drummers use upto 5 pedals per foot. Jazz requires 10x the co-ordination metal does.

BDM's drummer is one of the best there is. Listen to What a Horrible Night For a Curse. The fills aren't "basic fills" if they're sped up THAT fast.
