How do you construct a geo dome in Google Sketchup? I've downloaded GS, I'm trying to figure out the radius of the dome, if i build it to a certain height i.e. 20 feet.
@0utmatrix radius of sphere I've handle on but I don't know how to figure out the frequency of geoesic dome if I know my radius of the base which pretty I'm thinking is the radius of circle to construct the base. I want the dome to be high so people are not bumping their heads into lights or other fixtures which may be suspended over head.
@YesHaiti Frequency - is the way you like. The dome of an even-frequency (2V, 4V, 6V, etc) have "equator", they can be divided in half. The radius of the base will be equal to the radius of the sphere. Do not even possible to cut off above or below half of the sphere, and they do not have a flat base.
Look at my models. The dome radius of 6 m higher than the radius of 7.5 m What part of the sphere you want to see: half, above or below
That's a very nice geodesic dome model… and a very nice house project !

@YesHaiti The radius of a sphere or radius of the base? You need to learn more about the icosahedron, frequency, etc. Google search will find easy.

Cool dome. Does sketchup make the dome as a kind of in-built primitive or did you have to make it triangle by triangle?
