The Crawford kit has no BOV. Closed loop however the kit was built to handle the pressure and so far I have not had any reliability issues nor have any friend using the same or 30R kit who greatly abuse their cars. I may switch to a BOV however for better response getting on and off throttle through sweepers.
None. It's fully built and started at 0 miles. Including all internals as well as valves, cams, springs, retainers. We used a fresh block and all new parts on the build. Sold the original motor.
E85 is 30% less dense than premium unleaded so it actually is more expensive than standard premium gas. You burn 30% more of it. More cost effective to stay on regular gas.
@Frankenboost E85 is about 60 cents a gallon less here than 93, anda bout 5 dollars a gallon less than 100 octane. Why would i not run E85 ? When i can produce race gas numbers for $2.50 a gallon ?
@Frankenboost depending on cost difference though. No? E85 is almost a whole dollar cheaper per gallon here in San Diego (depending on what gas station)
It is less expensive per gallon however, depending on atmospheric conditions and tuning, you will burn through it faster as more volume is required per combustion cycle. This car is not my daily driver and if it were i would be using regular premium fuel so as to not get stuck somewhere without an e85 station present. There are only two anywhere near close to me and not usually where i would drive. Figure that it will cost the same as premium unleaded per mile however you will gain more power.
@madmestesoskillz Please read recently added post in addition. Also keep in mind that to be completely safe you will need to replace all of your fuel lines and associated hardware with stainless as regular hoses will dehydrate and crack due to lack of petroleum content in the fuel. Injectors will need to be much larger. and you may need extra fuel pumps. I have Aeromotive lines, 1200cc ID injectors, 1 walbro 255 pump to feed the surge tank, and two Bosch 044 pumps for the main rails. Expensive

The ticking sound you hear is the flex coupling on the Grimmspeed manifold for the crossover pipe. That will be eliminated when the full race twin scroll manfold goes on with the 3788R turbo this fall.
holy shit, I'll be excited if mine breaks 350whp! plus I'm only on a 30r and 93oct :( definitely jealous of the E85 action! You guys (cobbtuning) rock!
@pdubya85 - yes you are correct. I would rather under advertise the statement of power and let the acceleration do the talking. It is way more fun having a sleeper and then tearing someone's face off leaving them "O" faced than to have a loud car that doesn't move so fast.
@CobbtunedSTI - You will not be sorry. Their tuning and expertise is second to none. Next step for mine is tubular exhaust manifold, larger IC piping ( the Crawford kit's piping is a bit undersized ) and ViPec stand alone. Should be done by mid july ish. Possibly doing the GT3788r at the same time. We just want to see what we can hit numbers wise without losing driveability.

It however does not have a stock exhaust. It is quiet compared to most systems. It is a full Crawford turbo back for their rotated mount setup.

This is one of the most powerful Street sti I've seen. Man 550 on the mustang.

That car is no joke. My sti is being built right now in Plano tx at cobb. But I won't make near that power. I need to see some street vids.
cobbtunedsti 1 year ago
I have really pissed some cars off that thought they were fast. It is hilarious. Possibly putting on a 37R to hit over 600whp.
