This was fucking EPIC!!!! I would have given the whole movie a 9/10 if I heard the song just once in the theatrical version...I should really pick up this DVD. i rather own this version.
I actually liked the song during the battle. Yeah, it changed the entire scene's tone, but I felt it did better in this way in making it feel like an 80s action movie. I also loved how it cued at the credits. When the original version was released, I was constantly imagining the song kicking in EXACTLY how the directors cut did for the credits and was pleased to see it happen.
They actually took out scenes? I remember a scene with Stallone shooting men with 2 guns, while inside a truck, then falling out and shooting more men, and then running away as someone blew the truck up behind him. Why take out a cool scene like that? Inexcusable.
The song does not fit with the flow of the sequence at all! I wonder if Stallone really did intend to initially add this song to this scene in the first place?
Gotta say, I like the song, but it does not fit the scene at all. It's really ruined the scene. It makes look like some flashy music video. I'll take Tyler's score over this. I may skip the Director's cut because of this alone.
@thedirectorguy I don't think it ruined the scene per se, in my opinion you can just tell that it wasn't meant for this scene. Personally, I was just hoping to have it play during the end credits (which it did, yay!), so I was surprised when it started playing here as well. In my opinion, I can take the scene with either music cue. But that's just me :-p
When I was in the cinema this is where I expected 'Diamond Eyes' to play, I was so dissapointed that the Shinedown song wasn't in the film at all when it was written for the film.
I like the song, but the editing and musical choice for the scene really makes it much worse than it is. I mean the original version of the film wasn't the best, but Brian Tyler's musical score really was a much better fit.
i like the version without the song better. the song does not fit the sequence at all, it makes the scene look like a music video some 13 year old kid made in windows movie maker
just awesome

I do not like this music to these scenes of action. Sly madea mistake.
¨Mayhem And Finale¨ by Brian Tyler is much better! In fact my favorite scenes from the movie but with this new song the scene loses much force.
This new song is for children who are skating on the streets!
please do not spoil this scene, let ¨Mayhem And Finale¨ by Brian Tyler!!
Please Sly!! =(

@thedeadmansradio I agree the song by itself is good but it does not go with the rythm and editing of the scene at all
