I just reread the book "Do Androdids dream of Electric sheep." If you like the movie you will like the book the movie was made from by Philip K Dick Do Androids dream of electric sheep.
The treatment of this movie in the final cut is amazing and a must for any fan.
Watching this in hidef is amazing.

I loved Blade Runner ever since i was 16 ( now almost 34 ), but if i was subjected to that level of advertising with a movie, i would probably end up hating the movie i have always loved. Advertising on the net is one of MOST FUCKED UP THINGS ABOUT THE NET!. Thats why i use Linux because although you cant escape webpage based adds, you can avoid add in a lot of other areas. :)
Is dis movie a dream??? or is it a memory of a dream inside a memory implant? Or could it be a mere figment of the snake lady's dream of a memory she had during a breast implant? I just don't get it....I guess I'll just stick to Raiders of the Lost Arch...I'm confused!!!!!!!
I may be dumb but I dont get how deckard was a replicant and whats with the unicorn? I dont see the similarities. the ending puzzled me when he picked up that unicorn can someone explain?
deckard is not a rep.The Unicorn is something implanted in the replicant memory for a dream they suppose to have.Ridley Scott put this in to say Deckard maybe a replicant too.But really rick was human though.
Nope you are wrong. I have a documentary here called "On The Edge Of Blade Runner" and Ridley says right there on the video that Deckard IS a Replicant.
For those who doubt it, Ridley Scott flat out says that Deckard is a replicant in the documentary and a number of interviews. There are hints all through the film. The most plausible scenario is an agreement between the Tyrell Corporation and the LA Police department. Deckard as a real cop who died in the line of duty, and had his memories uploaded prior to becoming brain dead. His memories then implanted into a clone / replicant designed to hunt other replicants. The memory of his death erased.
Just piecing things together from what's available in the book "Future Noir" and the voice-over version of the film. Ultimately, only Ridley Scott, Hampton Fancher, and David Peoples know the replicant Deckard's origins. But, with Rachel essentially being a clone of Tyrell's niece and Deckard talking about his ex-wife, it sure looks like he started out as a human officer. Unless the original (non-replicant) Decard is still walking around somewhere. But that sounds even less plausible.
See if you can track down the original U.S. theatrical cut. It contains a voice-over narration by Deckard in the old 1930s/40s Film Noir Private Detective style, and ends with scenery in the mountains.
Some of the greatest pieces of art come unintentionally and from a process that everyone hates. Bands like Zao, and movies like this one are prime examples.
"Blade Runner" est le plus beau des fims de science-fiction que je n'ai vu. Un pur chef-d'oeuvre, rythmé par la musique d'un vangelis papathanasiou inspiré, au sommet de son art. Deux chef-d'oeuvres qui se sont épousés pour n'en former plus qu'un. Un pur bonheur !
I like Blade Runner, but I think Ridley Scoot gives himself to much credit. That Blade runner has a cult following has little to do with his unique vision and more to do with the story being based on a PKDick book, regardless of the fact that it's a piss-poor adaption.
think you could do any better.ridley turned a some what long winded book into a master piece.just how much of the book do you think you can cram into 117minutes.
Blade Runner is a trance movie with very little plot. While this is interesting, I think this is an unintended result of the countless rewrites the script underwent.
I made that up. What I mean is that the music and the visuals make up the content of the movie since the plot is so minimal. It's kind of like watching a lava lamp, which can put you in a trance.
Your definition and and initial 'tag' trance movie is good, I like it. I really like Blade Runner, I remember the bridge as a kid that Scott took inspiration from and the Northworks surrounding it.
this is a resume from the original documentary that will appear on the 25th aniversary dvd dangerous days, the making of blade runner, by charles de lauzirika .and the docummentary will last 3 hours!!... at last we'll know the secrets of this wonderful movie!....
Dude...when did they start posting this?!?! YOU'VE ONLY SERVED TO GET ME EVEN MORE HOT FOR DECEMBER 18TH!!!! :-D AWESOME!! Harrison Ford: "It was a bitch." LOL!! THEY FINALLY GOT HIM ON CAMERA!
its cool that they got Harrison Ford to do the documentary. I know he was very open about hating the film and working with Ridley Scott
