@international153 A new contract for broadcasting eliminated ESPN from broadcasting the Sprint (or Winston Cup at the time) and it went to TNT, NBC, FOX, and FX starting in 2001, but when NBC opted out of the 2007 contract, Turner and ESPN family of networks won the bids.
just think, if this happened again today and there weren't double file restarts.... all these new "fans" would whine that Nadeau went to the inside before the start finish line... just because they always need something to complain about.
Hey man, not sure if I've commented on another one of your vids or not... but if I have and have suggested this, then I apologize.
Ever look into getting some VCR-to-PC capturing equipment? I got one when I joined TBK.fameflame.dk in '05, and it's probably the best $100 I've ever spent. Being able to see this clip PERIOD is great, so beggars can't be choosers.
Just thought I'd run it by you. They're awesome little devices. :)
@kornnut43 Oh, yes, I have one of those now, and they are indeed quite helpful. I just don't have the time to re-capture all these clips and re-post them, so I've sent out an open invite for others to post them instead.
I said going into this race either Jerry or Skinner would win. I'm glad I was right. I remember Infineon in the 44 car. I HATED that he didn't win that race. What a damn shame. I miss Jerry. I'm glad he's alive after his wreck, though.
I was in attendance at this race. it was my last Atlanta race and me and my cousin were there on the frontstretch. It was Darrell Waltrips last race and was technically the last time Atlanta was the finale. The race was on Monday because there was some bad weather that Sunday and we had to come all the way back the next day...
I tell ya. The cameras angles back then was so much better than what they are now. I wish they would go back to multiple networks like CBS one week and ESPN the next. They probably can include NBC and FOX. NASCAR can do so much better with their coverage.
i was feelin like it would b better, but i thought about it more and wouldn't a place like Vegas b better? No offense, but the Atlanta races havnt been too exciting lately....just an opinion
"Going by the old system, Jeff would have 6 cups by now in both 04' and 07'. "
Not necesarily. I'm not saying he wouldn't but those guys know the rules and adjust to them. I am not a chase fan but if all the drivers knew they had the old system to win the cup Jeff might not have won under the old system. They adjust themselves to the rules they have to race by.
Ya, u don't have a life, you have to repeat every grade in ur life because on every quiz and test you would write NASCAR's BORIN'. You're cable connection will be hacked and spamed 1, 000 times and you won't be able to YouTube or watch another IRL race again!! Start liking NASCAR or else this will happen forever. How about them apples!!!! ;P ;P ;P ;P ;P ;P ;P ;P ;P ;P ;P.
indyfan22k, you never had life and never will AGAIN!!!! NASCAR rocks and you have to repeat 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, 5th Grade, 6th Grade, 7th Grade, 8th Grade, 9th Grade, 10th Grade, 11th Grade and 12th Grade because on every quiz and test you took you would write NASCAR is boring or NASCAR is for rednecks. Kill you!
I played NASCAR Thunder 2003 and they had Lighting challenge about with 4 laps to go you have to make 1.2 gallons of gas last 4 laps. I always run out on the last lap. It pisses me off. I'm not good at conserving gas on that game. Not to say that i suck at the game but you get the idea.
@combatking08 yes, it was in the fall race. Nadeau had it won cause he ran out coming off turn 2 and Bobby passed him off 4. I was at that race. Everyone around me was just sitting on their hands as I was jumping up and down screaming "He's out of gas!"
indyfan22k is an idiot indy racing is nothing compaired to nascar, indy racing is all digital crap nascar requires the knowledge on how to use a clutch not a freaken button
Just having a little fun that's all. To tell you the truth i watch open wheel racing too. Hate me if you want too. i wouldn't be mad at you if you do hate me. And i apologize for anything to make you mad. Take my apology or not. You're choice.
No offense he is a watse of time. I will say this tho. The fuel they use in those "over sized go-karts" cost more to make than it does to burn. And their steering wheels cost 75,000 $'s or more. indyfag22k is watching a sport go down the tubes. If CART was still around it would be that bad, but still NASCAR kills them in ratings and attendence. And it will always be that way until time ends.
I'm sorry that Jimmie"cheater"Johnson beat him. Jeff deserves his 5th cup. I'm a Tony Stewert fan but i respect Jeff for what he has done in his carrer.
Oh, that indyfag22k replyed to one of my comments on Life is a highway(NASCAR Tribute) and he says NASCAR fans are low class just because we swear and use profanity and drink beer. And that are Stock cars aren't "stock".
just dont read his comment, he isnt worth the time. he wastes his own time complaining that nascar sucks, not to mention his comments are on EV-ER-Y nascar vid.
All of his agruments about NASCAR "sucking" are unfounded and heavily retared. He isn't a mature race fan. He thinks the world revolves around IRL. He doesn't respect any driver from any other series. I've been a racefan since 1992. He watches just for fun. His series is on the verge of dieing and if anymore drivers leave IRL it will die faster. He should just become a NASCAR because NASCAR will be around alot longer than IRL.
Yeah, and Jimmie"cheater, user,no talent"Johnson would have none. Jimmie would have 32 wins but no cups. The Chase should change because it doesn't work. At first it worked, but know its a joke.
@nadeau1064 Unfortunately, I dont think Jerry will come back. I heard somewhere that his doctor told him that, if he gets in a crash 1/4 th as bad of his horrible crash, he could be killed. HOWEVER, with the safety in the car of tomorrow, the safer barriers, and driver devices, Jerry might be able to return. Just think about the crash he was in. Do you think he would be okay if that happened a week ago?
I remember watching this. It was a Monday race, and I had the day off of school. Jeff Gordon won the pole, and fell like a rock early. As you can see, he bounced back to have a strong day. Gordon and Loomis clearly had momentum nearing 2000's end, and it catipulted them to their 2001 championship.
its probably best that the acident took him out, if he would have got back in the race car, he wood have ended up like neil bonnett, or dale, he waas smart, hes got a kid, racin aint that important
I was born in the same town Nadeau is from. I was in school, so I couldn't watch this race. Thank you so much for posting and keep the classic videos coming!
