  • Does the rear door ever open?

  • Ahhh..... Dover...

  • Interesting fixtures.

  • Are those original fixtures? I'm trying to pinpoint when Dover started making the "Classic" fixtures.

  • yes. original fixtures. they were put in in the early 1970s

  • Really? In that case Dover was installing them right up until they were bought out. ThyssenKrupp began to sell them too when Dover was bought out, until they were redesigned only recently. How cheap of them!

  • It sounded like a traction with the machine running continuously and when the car stared up, I did not hear the motor kick in as I usually do after a few seconds. But I remember riding a brand new hydraulic elevator in an apartment building and I could not hear the motor from inside the car even though the motor room was right outside where I got on.

  • parejopinto says you need a key for the rear door. Until then I was thinking maybe some elevators come with rear doors by default?

  • Similar to the Target elevators @ Pheasant Lane Mall (Nashua, NH.).

I sent one of them as a video respose.

  • you need a key for the back door

  • Nice for a vintage Dover elevator.

  • AND for a service elevator
