  • I GO TO MSA (MASTER SKEN ACADEMY)

  • is a faking god

  • who is his stunent in vid?

  • 00:03 - 00:07 i feel like in star wars movie

    peow pium, pas!

  • The blonde guy was Paul K who was the other guy?

  • matt who is in the video the 1 with black short hair he teaches me in southport in MSA is shit hot at muay thai

  • lol nice sound effects -_- pshew pshew

  • lotsof muay boran in here

  • Dude looked like Sagat!

  • too nice to work on a ring, -> muay boran

  • I got my yellow kruang-ruang =D

  • today sports are so nerfed and made with so many safety rules and means that its not even funny :( i never train to become a champ! i train to become stronger and thats why i think im worth to be called martial artist and some guy who thinks only about win some local tournament and build nice body for the chiks dont!

  • straight penatrating kicks??? what do you mean? do you mean teep?? front kick is the same as a jab in boxing its to stop ur oponents atack or to get them away from you so you have time to do what you want. also gives you a second to think. there is no real power and will not win a fight. even a teep to the face will not stop anybody. front kicks are good to set up an atack but starting from kicks as they will be now out of range for anything else.

  • @wellybooy funny how Anderson Silva just knocked someone out with a right teep to the face

  • everytime i hear the dump valve on my car ill be thinking muay thai!! LOL

  • yeah dudes..... lets have a fight !

  • A muay thai lowkick

is much harder that other versions

of a low kick .......the only thing that

sum times hppend is that a muay thai lowkick Longer travels

  • -.-.-

i hate when you who obviously don't know shit about what real fight means post comments like this...muay thai is harder???wtf where did you hear that,,there are no statistics to power of a kick...it depends on a person average bum could maybe kick harder then someone who trains MT for 20 years...it all depends

  • @123puta3 actually there is statistics over strongest kick and Bas Rutten's Muay Thai kick had most force..

  • All action in the ring but how sad that's where it stops. Black trunks and no bollix to fill them lmao!

  • *Wonders if all MT fighters are as out of control when not in the gym?* Matt's deffo more of a 'text warrior who watched too much porn.'

  • this is muay thai boran

  • I Train At Sitnarong Muay Thai New Zealand =D

  • great video. i like the way they use the side kicks very effectivly. you dont see many thai boxers using side kicks because they feel that you can only strike offensivly using the shin but these fighters are using the shin aswell as the feet which will make them much more competant fighters. most other thai fighters dont expect these fast and powerfull side kicks and dont train to defend against them. this is to a great advantage to these thai fighters. good work

  • its much harder to land a hard side kick since if the opp moves the kicks force is easily disapated

the shin eats into you opp

this is why they prefer to use it, its a high % to dmg and land, but yes training something increases ur chance of landing one... but how much that increase is another question :D and i dont have an answer :P

  • good point well maid.but a round house loses all power if you opponent moves in towards you quickly, making the leg easy to catch. or if they move backward you will miss totally. at least with a side kick if they step in you will push them back with it allowing you to follow up. side kicks off of the front foot can be made very quickly and still contain alot of power though. the same happens with all strikes you need the correct timing and distance for them to be truly effective.

  • do you not also think thats its more advantagous for a thai fighter to be well versed in both round house style kicks and the more striaght penetrating kicks? surely the more simple yet effective attacks that you can add to your arsenal will only increase your chances of winning? this is exactly what master sken is teaching.

  • i totally agree

i am only suggesting why they kick a certain way, i personally do not use alot of side kicks, i know how effective they can be however

cung le for example uses them very effectivly

also the round house is much easier to be countered in thai fighting and very much so in mma

  • They are hardcore!

I would not get in the ring with a Thai because it is their national sport!

Muay thai is a sport, that is my point.

  • Im sure some1 will correct me because (they think) I am wrong but Im my opinion Muay thai is a ring art & for the ring.

Some techniques work real time but would not be enough alone, I wouldnt call it "one of the most effective martial arts in the world" (IMOP).

  • I've never seen a muay thai fighter pull off those tornado kicks and spinning back/side kicks before. Well, at least not as good as this guy anyway. I wonder if those moves are actually from muay thai or if he adapted it from tkd or something? Nevertheless, he does them really well. This guy knows his kicks that's for sure.

  • yes i am a muay thai champ i have three belts from thailand, but i also know muay boran very well my Kru is a master at it and i know both forms Muay Thai and Muay Boran

  • yeah sken is really fast did u guys know that he make 3 middle kicks in one sec.. thats fucking crazy

  • I seen this guy in a martial arts festival in Birmingham years ago....he is lightning fast!

  • Muay boran is ancient, most people who do Muay thai know the history...

  • at 0:36 that throw looks very judo'ish, perhaps a variation of neo-sagi

    (i know i know, its a muay-boran throw...get off my back)

  • capoeria science fact is that may thai is more pratical than capoeria teaches spacing timing ring craft also we fight to knock out so you become conditioned properly and to that learning to doge and block so many diffrent attacks why the other guy is trying to knock you out and you have a unique martial art that not many can live up to because most martal arts dont fight to knock out or block certain things to the head may thai dose not

  • Why arent i learning all these moves?!!!

Ive been doing muay thai for bout 8 months now and i have never learnt those spinning kicks or stuff like that. for fuck sake man!!!

  • I'm paying a fiver a session at another master skens but i have to say it is worth it as the classes are small, and the teaching is excellent, plus you learn fast from more experienced students.

  • with real combat applications does this make it Muay Boran? I am under the impression that Muay Thai is just a ring art and only teaches permissable moves for ring combat...?

  • Let's make ir clear for you.

Muay Thai -> Sport which can take down many martial arts

Muay Boran -> An origin of Muay Thai which is a martial art

Muay Boran is a farther of Muay Thai :P

  • Lets really clear this up

Muay Boran is Muay Thai, (boran means ancient) so Muay Boran is just ancient Muay Thai as used on the battlefield in life and death situations, Thai Boxing is the ring sport, (Muay Thai = Thai Style fighting)"ART"

(Muay Boran = Ancient Thai Style fighting aka Warrior Style)"ART"

    (Thai Boxing) = "Sport"

A lot of places only teach the sport as they really have no understanding of the Art

  • Absolutely correct :P

  • me an my brother trained at master skens place in stockport few years ago for about a year but cunt carry on because the lessons where to dear . we dint have no mum an dad takin us der an we were only 13 , 14 . bout £50 for a graidin . silly money i wish i had it coz i loved the disipline an leanin how 2 fight . BUT i gotta say i learnt alot in dat short time an ive always bin able 2 fight since 13 so if u kids got rich daddys get him 2 take use to stockport master sken an his wife kay

  • Great art. Has any one seen the vid of Mauy Thai Vs Savate. North American Champion Mauy Thai Federation Vs the Savate 2005 Bronze Medalist. Good fight Looks close until the Thai Boxer Gets Knocked out.

  • I am looking to attand Frankie H's Gym and he charges about £3 or £4 a session Master Sken is a rip off Merchant he might be famous but he is also famous for over charging

  • Many people find it cheaper to pay monthly fee and find very good and dedicate students. We have 2 classes per night,it works out much cheaper and it is unlimit training.Frankie is really good guy and he is surely will not be happy with this kind of comment from his student.

  • Master Sken has 45yrs + of training fighting and teaching Muaythai. To be the best train with the best. Give Master Sken the respect he deserves.

    cbsj4

  • Say what you want this is a discussion on price not merit. £60 pound a month? why? i would rather buy some CS gas

  • In any walk of life, if you want top tuition it costs more, but then you also get to train as many times as you like so it's great value for money.

  • fair comment

  • i started training under john steele last christmas trust me its worth it

im under no illusions about being any good but i really enjoy it it is technical its alot more tiring than it looks but boy its fun

  • I attend Master skens MuayThai training sessions wiht and instructor. That demonstration is great Master sken! inspiring.

  • Master Sken is one of the best teachers in the UK, it is a shame he is charging a monthly fee for membership rather than per class ... some of his former students are now teaching which has opened up muay thai to those that can't afford £50-£60 per month..

  • To run a Muaythai Gym you will need to charge this amount to pay rate, rent, advert,Instructors. Most of all will find committed students and training regularly. If you talk to me nicely you may train free

    All the best

  • Whose that guy on the background making those stupid sounds?! like F****** OFFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!

  • Master Sken is the man. One of the last kicks looks similar to a Taekwondo "jump-turn round kick"

  • sken would twat anyone

  • Gotta love master skens skilz.

  • wow that was sweet. but some of the techniques seem to include things that you would never see in muay thai as a sport. (like the ground stuff) was that burmese boxing or krabi krabong influenced??

    PS

    totally awsome

  • Hi There,

Only just seen this comment. The "ground stuff" is Muay Boran. It is the old style of Muay Thai, which was used in the old days to defend Thailand from its invaders. You will not see it in the ring simply because they do not allow it after the introduction of the Queenberrys rules in the 1930s.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

    Thanks,

    John
