  • Best live Album ever,

  • dont'n miss it!!!

  • I wore this 8 track tape out. One of THE best live albums of all time.

  • Yeah, I wrote the company about the CD's deletion of the song. I'd bought it ASSuming it was on it. I couldn't return the CD obviously, as I'd opened it, and of course the company didn't give a rat's *** about me, the world's #1 Kinks fan. :(

  • @vhsponyboy that's what you get for buying a cd lol

  • Seen them 1980 world tour "One For The Road, just S. of Cleveland, FANTASTIC! One of the best rides I have ever been on. Thank God We went. The show was just as good as the music.

  • My best friend still this day, my now X wife and I went to see them in Cleveland in 1980. Thank God we did! One For The Road was FANTASTIC! From the second they came out on stage till it was over, was one of the best rides I have ever been on.

  • It's a tough call for me whether I like the studio version or this live version of the song more. As much as I love the studio version it actually might be this version I prefer.

Thanks for posting it Crinklex2... 8-)

  • Well, this is cool and great for a live gig, but the Muswell Hillbillies version is much more demonstrative of the point of the song with the magnificent bridge not found here. Still though, rough and tough and I was there that year (Cobo Hall, Detroit)..

  • @PHYZOE I completely agree with you. It is not only missing the essential bridge, but Ian Gibbons added keyboard overdubs after 'One for The Road" was released. Of course, it is such a classic, anyway...

  • Deleting this from the 1st cd release was a crime!

  • @wolverine84 There's a reason why it was deleted. The first generation of CD technology was only 74 minutes per disc, now it's 80. They took out the song that would let the rest fit perfectly. A lot of albums released to CD early on had songs cut off.

  • this whole album is absolutely classic, this and celluloid heroes are two of the best ever songs.

  • I always thought this was the best song on the album. Great guitar by Dave.

  • @paddyo702 agreed. I like this version better than the original on "Muswell Hillbillies"
