All the band members were true musicians, the like of which will no longer be seen again (imo) such a shame they are no longer with us... Hail to Queen !!
I was 16 years old when I got into Queen and saw them from the beginning and throughout the 70s and 80s. If Bohemian Rhapsody defined them as the legends of the studio/video then surely this concert defines them forever, as the incredible force they were in full concert. Albeit, 20 minutes at LIve Aid destroyed the rest of the doubters. Now, almost 40 years on since my love of the band began, I still think of them as "my band" and how they transformed my whole existence.
i dont know if that intro-solo thing by freddie was planned or not. whatever it doesnt matter. that is possibly the most amazing, soulful, live expression on piano ive ever heard from a non balck person. he's truly one the best ever.
Wembley as well...he was a great live vocalist. I've only see one or two shows on here where he wasn't marvelous, and even when he's at his lowest he's still good.
i didn't know that may said that.i know that is a rumor that has been going around and if its true then i'm a bit upset because although he has alot of skill, the kid doesn't know how to endow a song with the grandest vision possible.when he sang with queen he tried to do too much with his voice.Freddie knew when to sing conservatively and when to go crazy.lambert just made it sound lame. And his cover of Zeppelins whole lotta love was dreadful.A complete lack of power
your totally right, freddie had something that will never be matched, lambert is no freddie il give you that but queen with paul rodgers just dosent sound right ether i think that they should just let queen be queen, in the past i know thats terrabul to say but theres no easy way out queen+PL just wasent 70's,80's and early 90's queen and i fear that lambert will just mimic PL
i wonder the same thing for piano... he never wanted to sing, cuz he thought he has bad voice...same happened for b.rhapsody..he never sang there..pitty :(
Unbelieveble performance! The intro is amazing, perfect.Just unbelieveble.I am for 17 years fan of Queen and the music is still good.Best band ever.Thank you Freddy

Well I feel obliged to say that gayness doesn't determine how good a singer you are. Also he did write the song, so he should be able to sing it. And lastly, he never said that, that somebody had to be female, so it could be considered as a song for anyone, straight or not.
I'm not gay but if you think of what this song meant to Freddie at the time with his gayness, it is a truly emotional thing.
Straight men during his time and even now could feel deeply about this song, but could in no way feel how deeply Freddie or anyone else who is gay probably felt or feels about this song, which is why I think he sings it so emotionally and beautifully.
It has nothing to do about being gay except the person he would love would be another man. It is all about finding somebody who truly loves him as a person not just because he is rich and famous.
Yeap totally with you. Mika can only grunt in similar tones he doesn't have a single ounce of stage presence, musical talent or passion for the music that Freddie posessed tonnes of
as what ive known this year started his loneliness he cant find true person love him..he must now worry for that we are millons in millions loving him
I don't think any member of Queen has ever stated which song is their favorite, but I think Freddie possibly said that Somebody to Love was one of his favorites, at least.
I don't know if it was his favorite song but I can tell you that "Somebody to love " is MY favorite song (with Show Must Go On and Save Me, can't choose)
