Nigel Barker suggests using at high iso in low light, this camera would not cope

with high iso due to noise on it,s small sensor.

This is just a huge ad for sony.

As a wedding photographer myself it would not even be used as a back up camera

The fact that he said "you can take lovely shots just like these, its quite easy" just kills the whole video for me. Makes it seem like anyone with a half way decent camera can be a photographer. What a shame.

I used a canon 7D and I am getting a number of people asking for me to photograph their wedding, but the problem is, so many people tell me which is the right lens,. Take the 50mm, one person says it;s amazing, the other says, why are you using that? Being a professional, can you please help me figure out which lens are the best for weddings?

@stumblingaway I'm not Nigel, but I know a thing or two about photography.Since you own a7D I'm assuming you know some basic photography principles and jargon so none of what I say should sound foreign to you.Your 50mm is a good lens but you gotta remember your camera's crop factor and that 50 is gonna turn into an 80(I think) which is telefoto. That's great for close-ups but you could forget about the wide shots(like the shot at 1:11) unless your shooting from a block away.

@stumblingaway Also it's a prime lens, so in order to change the distance you have to physically move. Unless you have several other lenses that span between wide and telefoto(after the crop factor adjustment),and don't mind changing lenses several times, then a wide range zoom would be a good lens to have. Just my opinion.

awesome !! i was sweating to death nearly cause i have a wedding shoot this february !! but how you put it men its so easy :O i can relax a bit now !! got all the elements ! ( 50mm 1.8 lens zoom lens and a telezoom lens and a small compact camera how shoots video in HD) just need a flash and a tripod and i'm done :D

At 2:18 when he says "open up the aperture" the video shows stopping down the f stop, which is decreasing the aperture and letting in less light, if anyone is confused about that

May I remind you people that the multi-million dollar movies that you guys are watching are taken by sony movie cameras. To us consumer, sony are know for their tv but to the real professionals (ie. people who are not fanboys) sony is a serious player when it comes to professional photography and videography. Heck! Nikon and Canon doesn't even have an equipment to cater the professionals who works to the movie industry.

tnk god i have a d3 and a sweet 12-24 2.8, in weddings size DOES matter, especialy on BIG weddings where the mayority of the people feel themselves more important then they really are, exept on the fotos during the funny moments.. film is nice but does not capture the moment.. using as backup a D7000, 1080p crisp clear HD film quality with auto focus.. when using with wide angle lenses the results are quite amazing... keep up the good work sony.. for the amateurs..

@archicadarchicad Actually, you're more likely to find him using a Mamiya RZ with a P1 back than a Canon. I think there may have been one instance on ANTM where he was using a 300/2.8 to photograph them at night in a window.

@Kulal72 are you talking about the NEX camera he picks up? if so i agree unless he bought an M mount adapter and slapped some Leica glass on it. The lenses Sony has for the NEX system are garbage. The APS-C sensor in that tiny body would have been a win if they had a better glass selection.

My friend purchased a digital camera last month now he is a fully qualified pro photographer and will shoot wedding for half price he turns the camera on auto and 10 frames per second ,although he ends up with aprox 35,000 frames to edit he get a good shot somewhere amongst them, then photoshops200 and wow they look good , spends a total of 4 weeks to do and makes 20 cents profit , but at least he can say Iam a PRO.

@123GEZZY focus on the bride, Av priority and watch your shutter time, if it gets above 1/60 increase your ISO. Nice camera, if you fall out of love with it send it to me.

@adonigh You should try one of the Sony lens 85, or 14-55mm range and must be under f/2.8. Those lens are said to be fast and sharp. Also great in low light situation.
