  • I would hate to be stuck in the middle of that crossing!!

  • @WILDSIGNSIGNALMAN You got that right.

  • Itz kinda funny hoe juss becuz 1 train came across 1 pair of trackz, ALL of the signalz initiated even if they were on different track stationz. lol

  • @4:00; there goes one of my brother's coworkers. BTW I love how this works, where the traffic light goes red, then the gates and flashers go on after the traffic clears. How modern. :-)

  • i like how all the lights are flashing that looks nice

  • wow. i'd love to have this kind of crossing in my city. how many crossings are at this site?

  • wow. i'd love to have this kind of crossing in my city.

  • Cool Vid Man 5*****

  • Another case of CSX Sick Horn Syndrome, I see. Great video, though!

  • I wish all crossings had the traffic signals that would activate before the signals

  • Do you guys have a lot of these "multi-tier" crossings up that way? I'm from Alabama, and can't recall every seeing any down this way. I love the idea though, given the spacing of the track. I bet it would be quite an endeavor to try to accurately model something like this on a scale model. :D

  • Yes, we have 12 or so crossings similar to this one. Although, this crossing isn't wired correctly.

  • @fgossage in live in Tuscaloosa, and there's one here.

  • why does the closest crossing to the camera go off when the trains like on the middle track? it seems strange.

  • Because the gates go down on the outside to keep traffic from backing up on the other tracks. This crossing isn't wired right though...as the two middle tracks come on when a train is on one of the outer. That is wrong.

  • Nice CSX ditector!

  • Was that a NS train but with CSX power?

  • I wish to see a UP train on this line

  • I don't think that will happen... :)

  • I've seen UP action on this line before. It doesn't happen often, but it will happen every now and then. I have a video of one at Pennsylvania Rd. I need to post.

  • @owensri2 but it did in an another video

  • Did that car in the beginning run the red traffic light?

  • Was that your black 2005 Mercury Sable I saw parked?

  • Yep. :)

  • Why does one train sets off all the those lights? Most crossing only start up on the track the train is on.

  • I know. It's very irritating, let alone unsafe. It's Conrail's fault. CN's is right though, as their back lights do not flash unless the train is on that particular track.

  • most likily they have it set up that way so if the cars are stopped for a train they are not backed up over the other track. that would be bad if they were setting on the other track and a train was comming.

  • How long does everyone wait when a train is going through the crossing? There is one crossing i had to wait and wait for about 20-30 min. on Fort st. (M85) Near Van Horn Rd in Trenton.

  • It's usually no longer than 5 to 10 minutes. I know that crossing you are talking about. It takes forever there, mainly because the CN Flat Rock yard is not far from there.

  • Today it may be that 2 railroads own the 4 separate tracks, but I'd bet that each one of these tracks has heritage of original railroads such as New York Central, Pennsylvania, Grand Trunk Western (CN), Norfolk Western, Chesapeake & Ohio, etc. Very cool. I see Mill Street has 5 tracks to cross!! WOW!

  • Yep, GTW was and still is part of the 2 outer tracks. Mill has 5 tracks, but 2 are within one set of signals. Harrison Ave., in Trenton, MI has 6 tracks.

  • I used to live down there. I remember when that traffic light was installed. It was installed because someone got killed at that crossing, if i recall.

  • Crossing gates are on backwards.

  • Yep, it was. Someone hit the gate last Sunday, March 30, and cracked it. That's just what I hoped would happen, so they would replace it and put a new one on the right way, with the RECO top mount lights, instead of those cheap rear mount ones...

  • That's a nice Nathan P5 on that NS GP40.

  • Cool video. Man those quadruple crossings are something. Were they all originally seperate railroads or did two railroads have double-track lines?

  • CN owns the 2 outside tracks, while Conrail (NS) owns the 2 inside ones. That's how it's been for a long time.
