@AZtrueflow18 That's noble that she's willing to endure it for the child, but if she does, the child will in turn grow up and will look up to his/her dad who beats and abuses his/her mother, and most likely become a reflection of this ignorant sorry excuse of a father. Is that someone the child should grow up around? Dealing drugs and guns and beating and abusing his wife, and most likely the child too? You need to help her get out of that relationship asap.
I think this is a great message and only wish more pastors preached this, and more "christians" believed this as well. I was once told by a relgious woman *I dont know her doctrine or beliefs* that I was WRONG and an adulterer for leaving my husband and remarrying. I can not believe GOD would look down on a woman for leaving an abusive, drug addicted man. Thank you for this. I am glad I found these video's.
It's clear from the varied usage that fornication DOES NOT specifically apply to sex before marriage, but to all adverse sexual practice. There is no grounds to restrict it to sex before marriage.
Add to that the fact that the woman is clearly referred to as his wife (not just betrothed, which would be different in the Greek), a certificate of divorce wasn't needed until after the marriage was completed, and it's clear that you're just plain wrong on adultery not being grounds for divorce.
And apparently you think Christ was a non scholar and is stupid...
In Verse 9 He used the word "MOIXEIA" (adultery) twice, and in the same verse when describing the ONLY exception for divorce he used "PORNEIA" (fornication)... Why? He was being specific about divorce and it could NOT happen after the consummation of the marriage. If he was talking about "MOIXEIA" (adultery) for this exception? He would have said that... HE DID NOT... Your argument is VOID and Boring!!!
@CastingStonez Except for the fact that Mosaic Law required a man to MARRY (not at all divorce!) any woman with which he had pre-marital sex, not that "fornication" even means pre-marital sex. Also, there's no sense in which divorce in this verse refers to a betrothed pair - it's only ever used of a married couple. And "porneia" includes (but is not exhausted by) adultery, whereas "moixeia" is specifically the sin a re-married partner would be inducing.
"Fornication" is two people who are NOT married to each other or anyoneelse... Your belief is "BLURRING" the lines of Adultery and Fornication so everyone has an excuse to divorce, everyone will find ANY reason to divorce and call if "fornication"... This is NOT proper scripture...
A Betrothal period is STILL in effect! What do you think "your personal" life is? Our lives "ARE" the betrothal period to prepare for our marriage to Christ Himself!!! Did you know this???
@CastingStonez Fornication in the Greek is a catch-all term for any kind of sexual immorality, under which adultery fits. And no, we are not in a betrothal period to Christ, the Church (golbal, invisible, regenerated) is the only bride that Christ will have, certainly not us as individuals.
What im about to say is going to make you feel uncomfortable? but you need it...YOUR AN IDIOT... All us as individuals COMBINED ARE THE CHURCH and this lifetime that "YOU" have is the BETROTHAL PERIOD for "YOU" to get prepared for that wedding day...

Fornication isn't a bad translation of "porneia", unless you strictly define fornication as "sex before marriage". Fornication in the KJV (which you appear to be using) is a catch-all term for every type of sexually immoral act, not only sex before marriage. It's used in John 8:41 to denote having an improper bloodline. 1 Cor 5:1 uses it to denote a person having sex with their (I hope step) mother. 1 Cor 6:13, 18 uses it to refer to having sex with prostitutes. And that's just a few verses.
@leafclash Because then everyone would get divorced. In 50 years of marriage, I guarantee you you'll fall out of love at least a couple of times. You need to hang in there if the reason is just boredom or a temporary lack of excitement. What the video is talking about is unrepentant abuse, which praise God at least one well known pastor is speaking out on! Thank you Pastor Mark!
@CastingStonez actually CERTIFICATE of divorce is man made, (that would be a paper) but Divorce, the act of Divorce is something that God hates but allows. He too divorced his people when they broke covenant with him. As for your definition of fornication... according to the oxford dictionary, fornicate verb(two people not married to each other) have sexual intercourse. noun extramarital sex.
I wont use Websters... I only use the bible to define itself... Please look into the Betrothal Period in the Jewish customs and you will find the TRUTH that Christ was talking about in Matthew 19:9...
Yes, your right about the certificate being man made... But, you cannot find ONE shred of evidence where Christ or the Father allows or approves of Divorce. ONLY opinions on Translations...
Matthew 19 is about the Pharisees lying to Christ and trying to trick in "terminology"... The key word is "commands" in verse 7... The original text is Moses "allowing" divorce but NEVER commanded it... It was only because the Jewish customs were becoming pagan and the men had taken 4 or 5 wifes, and because the hardness of their hearts they would NOT listen to reason... DIVORCE is ficticious... FAKE and not approved by God, as Christ says in verse 4,5, & 6...
Romans 11:1&2 says: "I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin. God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew. Don’t you know what Scripture says in the passage about Elijah—how he appealed to God against Israel...
They were saved through the appeal of Elijah... This is also why Elijah NEVER saw human death...
Did you actually read the passage, check out the context, etc? Do you actually know Greek? Or are you just pulling all this info off some crackpot website that also hasn't done it's research?
The verse is clearly not refering to a bethrothal period - the verse quoted by the Pharisees (Deut 24:1-4) is quite clear that it is someone who has been married for a period of time, and has grown to love them less. This is not a betrothal period they cite, but an extended marriage.
Yes i have read the passage (many times)... The problem here is your focus on subject matter. Your argument is on Deut 24 (like the pharisees) in which Christ IGNORED because Deut 24 was irrelevant to what Christ was talking about and re-directed them to the real subject matter of Genesis 1:27... and that DIVORCE was and NEVER has been authored or approved by God.
They missed it and so did YOU... Nice try on thinking your the teacher and im the student>>>LOL...
verse 4 “Return, faithless people,” declares the LORD, “for I am your husband.
verse 22 “Return, faithless people; I will cure you of backsliding, “Yes, we will come to you, for you are the LORD our God."
God asked His people to return to Him for "I am your husband"... The Lord had NOT yet fulfilled the divorce... And Israel repented and returned to the Lord... Therefore, NO DIVORCE...
This is very SAD... Mark is giving women excuses for Divorce that NOT biblical.
THERE IS NO GROUNDS FOR DIVORCE... except "FORNICATION"...
FORNICATION is having sex "PRIOR" to marriage in a BETROTHAL PERIOD or the Engagement... Adultery is NO GROUNDS FOR DIVORCE... And scripture does NOT SAY THIS! Matthew 19:9 is the ONLY scripture that Christ talks about "grounds" for a divorce... And its actually called: AN ANNULMENT... NOT A DIVORCE...
DIVORCE IS NOT OF GOD AND NOT REAL... ITS MAN MADE...
@CastingStonez Actually, that's one English translation of a more broadly understood Greek word. Pornea roughly translated, "sexual perversion", which includes ALL kinds of sexual perversion, including within the marriage. Rape is pornea, yes, even of your wife. Abuse of a sexual nature of any kind is grounds for divorce. Now, you'll probably argue with me that pornea doesn't mean what I said, and that's fine: Greek scholars agree with me, so you won't get far with that.
No i wont argue with you... Your correct... You have just sealed my argument! "Porneia (the correct spelling, as we see your NOT a scholar), does not mean ADULTERY... Thank you very much...
And all your negative thumbs down wont remove This scholars TRUTH on the word... All the scholars you refer to have agendas and those agendas are "sugar coated, bubble gum, pop Christianity" and this is the 1st Seal in Revelation 6 with the White horse and rider... FALSE religion/Christianity
@CastingStonez 1) Picking apart spelling is childish. 2) I didn't claim to be a scholar. I could easily have checked my spelling on the word if I knew I'd be arguing with someone immature enough to check it after the fact. 3) I didn't say it did mean adultery. 4) I didn't thumbs down anything. 5) I suppose if you don't trust Greek Lexicons should I infer that you're a King James Onlyist? If so, I'm sorry. I thought I was talking to a rational person.
@CastingStonez wonderful castingstonez... its good to know that one could beat their wife, be verbally abusive as well as emotionally make her feel like little to nothing, insult and degrade her and "your" god would not see this as grounds for divorce. Even if this was the case how can you HUMANLY not see a problem with that. take some time and think rationally for one moment. god bless.
No one said it doesnt SUCK... When "REAL" cases come about but, just maybe... just maybe people need to take marriage EXTREMELY serious and stop marrying the first smuck they come across... and when it doesnt work their way??? they want out... and to give you some statistics??? 75% of women "CLAIMING" abuse... JUST MAKE IT UP... so, their candy ass pastor will side with them and agree with a divorce... THIS IS EPIDEMIC... and just SAD...
@CastingStonez and abusing themselves, they will get whats coming to them and that is equally wrong and unjustifiable. I do agree men can be and are victims atimes to, but in either case im for divorce if it calls for it. I do think ppl need to work harder at relationships though and truly understand what love is, but im so against absolute commitment in spite of circumstance.
Im NOT God... I dont make the rules... I am just responsible for educating people of them! If they dont want to follow them? then, they are responsible for their own actions, not me... This is NOT any easy subject to swallow, and it took me time to see what God was truly trying to get across to us. I still feel like it SUCKS, but what i cannot do is my OWN WILL anymore... I was bought with a price and now i am a bondservant to Christ... His RULES, NOT MINE...

I have seen this happen in ministry OVER and OVER again... So, i dont want to hear any sob stories and manifested abuse statistics.
