@AZtrueflow18 That's noble that she's willing to endure it for the child, but if she does, the child will in turn grow up and will look up to his/her dad who beats and abuses his/her mother, and most likely become a reflection of this ignorant sorry excuse of a father. Is that someone the child should grow up around? Dealing drugs and guns and beating and abusing his wife, and most likely the child too? You need to help her get out of that relationship asap.

I think this is a great message and only wish more pastors preached this, and more "christians" believed this as well. I was once told by a relgious woman *I dont know her doctrine or beliefs* that I was WRONG and an adulterer for leaving my husband and remarrying. I can not believe GOD would look down on a woman for leaving an abusive, drug addicted man. Thank you for this. I am glad I found these video's.

It's clear from the varied usage that fornication DOES NOT specifically apply to sex before marriage, but to all adverse sexual practice. There is no grounds to restrict it to sex before marriage.

Add to that the fact that the woman is clearly referred to as his wife (not just betrothed, which would be different in the Greek), a certificate of divorce wasn't needed until after the marriage was completed, and it's clear that you're just plain wrong on adultery not being grounds for divorce.

In Verse 9 He used the word "MOIXEIA" (adultery) twice, and in the same verse when describing the ONLY exception for divorce he used "PORNEIA" (fornication)... Why? He was being specific about divorce and it could NOT happen after the consummation of the marriage. If he was talking about "MOIXEIA" (adultery) for this exception? He would have said that... HE DID NOT... Your argument is VOID and Boring!!!

@CastingStonez Except for the fact that Mosaic Law required a man to MARRY (not at all divorce!) any woman with which he had pre-marital sex, not that "fornication" even means pre-marital sex. Also, there's no sense in which divorce in this verse refers to a betrothed pair - it's only ever used of a married couple. And "porneia" includes (but is not exhausted by) adultery, whereas "moixeia" is specifically the sin a re-married partner would be inducing.

Fornication isn't a bad translation of "porneia", unless you strictly define fornication as "sex before marriage". Fornication in the KJV (which you appear to be using) is a catch-all term for every type of sexually immoral act, not only sex before marriage. It's used in John 8:41 to denote having an improper bloodline. 1 Cor 5:1 uses it to denote a person having sex with their (I hope step) mother. 1 Cor 6:13, 18 uses it to refer to having sex with prostitutes. And that's just a few verses.

You need to hang in there if the reason is just boredom or a temporary lack of excitement. The original text is Moses "allowing" divorce but NEVER commanded it... The verse is clearly not refering to a bethrothal period - the verse quoted by the Pharisees (Deut 24:1-4) is quite clear that it is someone who has been married for a period of time, and has grown to love them less. This is not a betrothal period they cite, but an extended marriage.

Your argument is on Deut 24 (like the pharisees) in which Christ IGNORED because Deut 24 was irrelevant to what Christ was talking about and re-directed them to the real subject matter of Genesis 1:27... and that DIVORCE was and NEVER has been authored or approved by God.

Pornea roughly translated, "sexual perversion", which includes ALL kinds of sexual perversion, including within the marriage. Rape is pornea, yes, even of your wife. Abuse of a sexual nature of any kind is grounds for divorce. Now, you'll probably argue with me that pornea doesn't mean what I said, and that's fine: Greek scholars agree with me, so you won't get far with that.

I have seen this happen in ministry OVER and OVER again... We have seen video's of women PUNCHING themselves in the face, cutting themselves, scratch themselves... call 911... tell police the husband did it... and the guy goes to jail... So, i dont want to hear any sob stories and manifested abuse statistics. Women abuse the court system and now the church for FALSE support and CLAIMS with tears running down their faces... and Im tired of it!!!

I'm very glad he addresses this issue. Many people, particularly women, need to see this. I've read about a lot of women who become disenchanted with Christianity because their pastors and fellow church members condemn/shun them for wanting to divorce their husbands on grounds of abuse.
