My dad had his car on the dyno and sheared his driveshaft in three spots which I think is funny because everyone says the u-joints are the things that usually break first. We looked at the pieces on our shaft...shaft pieces...and the u-joints were fine.
Makes me want to put some new u-joints in my truck before next year's Dunbar dyno runs. Cade's 1st gen did the same thing on a dyno, took out the fuel tank, and getrag.
what kinda numbers is this thing makin? im runnin basically the same thing but stock injectors stock pin and stock clutch and im makin 270 horse 630 torque
HX35w, POD injectors, ground pin, 3200 spring, BHAF, and a South Bend clutch. There's more power left in it. We haven't messed with the pump much at all. He needs a different turbo setup though.
Well you can see the axle wrap pretty bad before it gives. Dunbar said the run was smooth and he never felt any vibrations, neither did we on the 2 hour drive down. We're not sure of the cause really, but the axle was wrapping pretty hard. One of the ears on the driveshaft was broken, but we don't know if that was the cause, or if it happened afterwards.
i dont think your drive shaft cared too much for your torque...

35/40 Hybrid, POD's, BHAF, tweaked pump, and a Southbend clutch. Pretty mild.

His brother is the one with Rockstars. We got the trans rebuilt and just built and installed a 35/40 hybrid this weekend. It's running good now.

Nice video man, sweet how you got a good shot of the drive shaft actually breaking. It sucks how it took out so many other parts though.

how the hell did that happen on dunbars dyno? did he already have a bad rear u joint and the speed snapped it?
upinsmoke945 2 years ago
