The la la la bit is from 'Aviva Pastoral' by Nathan Larson. Vocals by his wife and former Cardigan, Nina Persson. She also sings the other song featured, which I'd love to get a copy of.
From what I have read (because I didn't understand it either) it's all about the mind and using rather opposite characters to play the same character makes the audience think - how do their physical appearances change the way we view them and their situation....whether they are black, which, fat, thin, young (like the little black child at the very beginning of the movie) or old.
thats some crazy shit, but yeah the movie didn't really make it that clear. I was really confused about the fat black girl because of when she was with the sunshine family... also what about that one scene where you see that young boy dressed as a girl and he gets in that small boat, what was that all about?
yeah i was lost too perhaps we are characters in that odd story also so if i see that he she in the boat im calling shotgun, kick him to the back so i can steer clear.
agreedddddddd!!!Ive seen both and Juno did not dig nearly as deep into human emotion, thought, and action. This movie is too raw for "standard" audiences. This is why I loooooooooove Todd Solandz....he just doesnt give a shit
this is one of solondz best films its a must watch for those who like weird funny and strange films its just great check it out u wont regret watching it

This movie shows how when we see someone, we sublimally create an entire past and personality of them in our minds.
I think its brilliant.

Deeply unsettling, emotional and beautiful Film this. As good as Happiness.
Why it got such a slating from reputable Reviewers, beats me. The amount of pain encompassing the numerous characters is outstanding.

In my opinion, "Palindromes" is much better than "Juno".
