Actually, there was a federal investigation to see if price gouging really happens after Katrina.

It turned up negative.

And yes, there is a solution.

Take fewer trips to the beach. Try a smaller car. Try public transportation.

Global supply and demand and the actions of OPEC are far more responsible for oil prices than any one firm, even if that firm is XOM.
