hey im new to lures what lures should i use around sydney harbour and sydney heads. not really targeting anything just want to catch something any ideas?
I just landed my first kingy yesterday! im 13 and #$@% it fought hard, it was only 80 cm but geeeez, i was only out for some nice bream so wasnt using any expensive gear, and then on my smallest rod it just nearly snapped, thanks to the kingy i have 2 fingers cut right open! But it was worth it! And what made it more worth wile, was watching it safely swim away un harmed!
@liondancerulez Fishing early, around sunrise, is best. And try casting the stick baits at all the markers in the harbour, not just the one depicted in this video. The kings move around a bit. Good luck!
@jarviswalkerfishing lol sounds easy but i'm only 15 and i only fish landbase at pier 2 mostlyi had 6 runs on 60 line with 80lb leader and still no hookups, i would like all the advice i can get from you just to land my first one :)
@liondancerulez If you're land-based fishing only, then you might need to catch some live squid and try fishing with that for kingies. You might be able to catch squid using squid jig lures around the jetty pylons you currently fish, keep them live in a bucket and fish them unweighted near the jetty pylons.

What size rod and reel is Craig using. I'm after a rod which can handle casting a 9" stickbait, the 3-6kg rod I have at the moment just won't cut it

@liondancerulez Off Bantry Bay in North Harbour, Central Coast.

@liondancerulez The marker is in Sydney Harbour. You can see the Manly ferry pass in the background, for further indication of which marker it is.
