It's unfortunate that they are too blinded by minority "leaders" like him and cannot see that they are manipulated for their own selfish purposes. @zettadom - Tawana Brawley, Amado Diallo, Yusef Hawkins, Abner Louima, Micheal Mineo and most recently Sean Bell. There is a patter of criminality amongst the NYPD that is undeniable and this is what this case was beginning to expose. Had Justice been done in this case it certainly could have prevented the string of police brutality that contiues coast to coast. RIP Oscar Grant. Too many Americans, Black, White, Hispanic and Asian, are into identifying with their captors - which is truly sad.

What if Pagonas was in the vicinity of the bus stop, it still doesn't mean he did this, it doesn't change the essential absurdity of the story, if the story was he jumped her around the stop and raped her in the bushes maybe that would sound credible but Pagonas and a gang of cops and politicians didn't hold her thanksgiving weekend. Just didn't happen. It's nonsense.

@eyewitness043 I'm not a knee jerk defender of cops, I know they circle the wagons any time a cop is accused of something, hide evidence, lie and cover up. I'm not familiar with all those names you mentioned and maybe they are legitimate. TAWANA IS NOT! I know the cops made evidence disappear, but that was before they realized her story was preposterous. No matter how much Sharpton massaged the story he couldn't change the theatricality of it and make it sound even remotely credible.

@zettadom - This case is not and was not ever about Al Sharpton. Truth be told, did anyone even know who Sharpton was prior to this case? The Fact is Pagonas lied & mislead the court. According to Edwin Garcia, who was a close friend of Pagonas and a state policeman, Pagones admitted [to Garcia] that he was in the vicinity of the bus stop on Route 9 when Tawana alighted from the bus and that he [Pagonas] needed an alibi to mislead police investigators. He [Pagonas] had just left a nudie bar.

Somehow these men's friends and families didn't notice they were gone all Thanksgiving weekend committing this crime. The whole story was BS.
