He should not feel ashamed, he lost two of his men which is a very hard thing to deal with, it was their time to go and the good Lord called them home, they did their country proud and he should be very proud and humble by what he did over there.
I was at the ceremony yesterday during the 82nd's All American Week. It was a great moment to see him recognized by the President. I wish him the best and hope time will heal (though I know, not fully) his wounds. All The Way!
Good times w/ those guys when they came to Air Assault school. Great guys, and a credit to thier unit, and the Army. I would chew dirt w/ them anytime.
I am so damn proud of this trooper and I am so proud I had the privilege of serving in the 82nd. It is an entire different place in the US Army and only those who have worn the patch know the feeling.
For those who came before us, Thank you for setting the standards so high and may all of you in harms way please get home safely
Perhaps I'll see him around and can ask why he "never has" [had?] "a round in the sniper rifle". I'm not a sniper but an Infantryman, so they surely work in ways that I'm not trained in. But Never? As in 'never' [procluding actual predetermined contact of course]?
Any other qualified military; feel free to explain why this would be. Without a round chambered you'll be left with an ornate club so I'm missing something here...
Its just the SOP for the M24. The safety is super light, so we load the magazine then ride the bolt over the rounds. Of course we'd keep our M4s locked and loaded.
Ah... I had quite a problem "locked and loaded" with my new Glock [years ago]and was explained the errors of my ways in that I was turning a 'Handgun into a 'Hand(S)gun' :cringe:
The safety is to light its just there SOP, i am just an infantryman also, thought it was common knowledge. try reading the 11-8 or handbook. So yes never chamber a round unless your going to shot if the light ass safety slips any bump will set it off.
boo fucking hoo, what about the heroic deeds of the terrorists.

Wow amazing video. This should be a video with a million views. The important things in out nation don't get as much attention as the unimportant.

I can see the difference in application however.
