People seem to forget that Favre lead the team to 3 consecutive 9-7 years before the were able to build one of the best Ds and STs in the game. Then THEY won the super bowl. The only time Favre didn't choke out in the playoffs is when Holmgren wouldn't let him be a gun slinger. Favre was baned from going down field the entire second half. Letting the D and ST win the game.
@IHCTerra favre 3 mvps, most wins most yards most consecutive starts, most tds....and only one losing season...he was a WINNER. and he never really had a special recieving core except in his last year as a packer.....when he was a viking he threw for 60 more yards than the entire saints offense...not to mention he had a broken foot half the game.do u know why he got an mvp in his super bowl year....because over and over again he made someting out of nothing
@t97135862 I don't dispute or deny the great things Favre did. But you seem to be forgetting his incredible failures that went along with the successes. As great as he was at times, he sucked badly enough and often enough to bring his average down to Trent Greens level. In his last 6 years, he had 4 that were rated 80 or lower and 2 that were around 100. Added together, his average was pretty terrible. It isn't hate. It is seeing both sides.
@IHCTerra you also have to take into consideration his injuries and how he did it....Aaron Rodgers wont impress me until he can prove that he can do something without all the talent around him...i thought the same thing about joe montana at first...Favre did so much with very little...the team relied solely on him for most of the 16 years...if they won it was his fault, if they lost it was his fault. you can look at all the great teams and they all have balanced teams.
@t97135862 Like maybe win as many superbowls as Favre? You are trying to side track my point by attacking Rodgers. Rodgers is not relevant. The point is that you are ignoring almost half of Favre's career. The half that sucked so bad he is tied with Trent Green in career passer rating. I also disagree that his team was so bad around him. He didn't take the team anywhere until he had the number 1 D and ST.
@IHCTerra the Favre with the team rodgers has -4 seasons...when they were all young or undrafted and undeveloped took the packers to be 13-3 and almost to the superbowl. the next year they were 6-10...rodgers couldnt bring the team to be great until the talent matured around and rodgers cant win close games...favre did without a good o-line, without debth and size at the reciever position..just look at what he did with the jets offense - the games he had a torn bicept tendon.
@IHCTerra they were leading the patriots and favre was doing some incredible things with almost no protection...then he went to the vikings and played well in all of those games... QB rating isnt accurate, because when some qbs would ground the ball on 3rd and 5 favre would go for it and throw a couple picks yea so his qbr shot down but thats almost the same affect as a 3 ant out. thats why he was a winner. he didnt go for stats he did what it took to win
In super bowl 32 it was the fact that the defense couldnt stop davis which cost them the game and again not bretts fault. ive been a packer fan since the 60s. i saw them in super bowls 1 and 2. Brett was the best ive seen and it killed me when he became a viking but i still supported him because of all he did for us. Rodgers is good but he is nowhere near as good as brett in my opinion
I hate how people give brett a hard time for the playoff games against the eagles, giants and saints in the eagles game it was the 4th and 26 play, NOT BRETT that cost them the game, against the giants the pack couldnt stop burress and jacobs and that cost them the game, if they couldve stopped them the pack wouldve went to the super bowl. against the saints it was petersons 2 fumbles that cost them the game long before brett threw the interception
@greendayfan4519 It wasn't the 4th and 26 that was the problem, it was Sherman's gutlessness at not going for it on 4th and foot and half in Eagle territory with his precious offense too fragile to have the game in their hands, no, he had to put it on the short side of the payroll defense to make it happen. In other words, in that 4th and a foot situation to ice the game, the Manning Colts and Belichick Pats GO FOR IT to win it with their strong side of the payroll offense. But not Sherman.
@greendayfan4519 As for the Giants game, Favre had a typical 70 ish QB rated game. Does Favre take ANY blame for his overall 64 average QB rating in playoff "exit games" and his 2.5+ turnovers? Why does EVERYONE ELSE'S turnovers become the ones that matter, but not Favre's? In the Giant game that was simply an AWFUL pass - Favre knows it and so does everyone who doesn't insist on giving Favre kneeling ovations. Check out nfl.com Anatomy of a Play - Greg Cosell breaks it down.
@greendayfan4519 Favre DID do a lot for the Pack. But so did Harlan. And Wolf. Without all that Harlan did from 89-91, Wolf probably doesn't take the job the SECOND time it was offered (Wolf was offered the job in 1987, but turned it down). Without Ron Wolf, the Packers don't likely get Mike Holmgren, do they? Does Holmgren get credit for the system and the patience that made Favre who he was? Without the Packers fishing Favre off ATL's third string, he would have drunk himself out of the NFL.
WHATQB takes the 05 Pack to the playoffs...? Favre had 2 losing seaons in a 20 year span...! the 05 pack was gutted and replaced with rookies & draft picks... please... what's favre supposed to do take ANY TEAM to the playoffs every year...? @2gatoss The Packers were not "gutted" in 2005. They were just lousy after three years of Mike Sherman at the helm as GM. Another problem was Favre's backloaded "lifetime contract" began to soak up a ton of the payroll. In 2005, 65+% of the Payroll was spent on the offense, 5% on Special teams, and 30% on Defense. Sherman left Thompson a HUGE mess, one that Thompson had largely FIXED by 2007, of course against Favre's demands and instructions which pissed him off and brought about the divorce.
I've given everything I could possibly give to this organization...
Except the discipline to be great. Beer, pills, skipping camps, lack of commitment, doing whatever it took to be the best Packer QB you could be. Holmgren shaped who you were the years where you had top tier success. Otherwise, YOU knew too damn much, more than anybody else. And when you thought this way? Garbage. When you subordinated yourself to a team, you had success, when you didn't you KILLED the team. Just how it is.
@toolkien Comes to GB when the franchise had but 3 winning seasons in a span from 69-91. The Packers in revenue then were in the BOTTOM 5. Leads the team back to the TOP and does not miss a PRATICE or a GAME in 16 YEARS..! Revenue is now in TOP 10. Plays for 4 different coaches. Holmgren WALKED OUT & leaves him with Rhodes,Sherman, then Mac. Team tells him to quit in 05 as they are going to rebuild. He stays and has them to the title in 07. Winningest team in NFL while he's here. BOYRU DUMB...!
@1perfectstranger2u Can you really blame them for asking him to quit after the 05 season? They went 4-12 and he threw a career-high 29 interceptions. The guy is full of himself. He loves being in the spotlight. I'm glad the Pack didn't let him come back after his little teary-eyed press conference announcing that he had retired. They weren't about to tell Rodgers to return to the back seat because the old fart had a change of heart.
@1perfectstranger2u No, you're dumb. The measurement of Favre's impact on the Packers ISN'T from 69-91, IT'S WHO COULD HAVE REPLACED HIM IN 1994 when he was nearly benched with his wonderful 78 QB rating, namely Mark Brunell. Remember that? Favre was poor from 92-94, and wasn't until half way through 1995 that he finally threw the switch on "getting it". By 1996 94 % of the roster had turned over from 1991, and THAT was Ron Wolf's doing. IT WASN'T ALL BRETT FAVRE. Facts=not dumb. No facts = dumb
@toolkien the game was so much different back then....the qbs and recievers werent protected nearly as much...just look at the stats that qbs put up nowadays. that never happened 20 years ago.. qbs got hit..recievers got hit and held every play. the rules have changed- hence the stats have changed
@toolkien you dont know how to analyze a game....qbs dont pass to themselves. THATS A FACT....the game is about wins and loses THATS A FACT....in 91' the packers were 4-12....the next year they got favre and went 9-7 THATS A FACT. Brett Favre only has one losing season THATS A FACT
I am soo glad that Favre retired. I am a huge fan, but seeing him go to the Vikings was sickening. Now I am just going to erase the two season he played with the Vikings from my memory and all will be well. (However, I must thank him for allowing the Pack to acquire Clay Matthews.)
@MrDaniel7734@Favre will always be a Packer no matter what team he goes to... People forget this, I'm a 49er through and through but when I think Favre I think Packers.
Loved Favre when he played for the Packers and will love him no matter where he is playing. He's a remarkable talent and someone that has that much passion to play should continue playing. Packers will always be at my heart, but I will forever cheer for Favre as he is so fascinating to watch. ......now I need to cheer on the Pack as they play the Bears for a chance at the SuperBowl. GO PACK GO!!
Im dissapointed Favre left GB but probably it was for the best, i mean this year and last year, especially this year he didn't do good at all, and once you start hitting 35yrs and older your skill fades away, maybe it was for the best Favre left GB & Rodgers helped us win great games, Brett Favre will always be a big piece of of Packer Hearts. No matter which team his with, his place was always with GB and he couldn't have done it without us, & neither GB without him.
LIke him or not Packer fans, this man dedicated his whole career to make your franchise one of the beast in the NFL and brought the Superbowl trophy. If you're a kid from 90's or before that you know this.if you're a kid from 00's or recent bandwagon fan you might say fuck Favre, dumbasses.
Brett Favre just needs to hang it up. He's had 19 great years in the NFL, but he's 41 and he even admitted he was tired after a PRESEASON game. He doesn't realize he would have had a greater legacy had he just retired after the '07 season. The past three years, he's turned his back on the team that he loved, and he's becoming a joke with his retirement/no retirement saga.
vikings packers meet a third time in the semi finals both one 1 rubber match in season tie breaker then favre getting them a winning drive too win the game by 3 points then vikings win the super bowl beating the ravens!!! =)
@DrunkDannyboy I dont hate Favre at all dude. I did not know that by saying the truth, or facts or my opionion that it makes me a hater.
Just saying the Truth. And opionion.
That Brett Favre is the Biggest NFL playoff CHoke Artist I have ever seen.
Find me a bigger Big game choker than Brett?? you cant. I bet you anything you cant. JUst look at bretts playoff record the last decade and his TD's to Interceptions. Its pathethic. Its the Truth and Nothing but the Truth. NO hating.
@DrunkDannyboy So you've watched all the videos he's watched too. He has less of a life because of the extra fifteen seconds to make a comment than you must have? Alright.
As a Packer AND Brett fan, I can honestly say that what pisses me off is other Packer fans who need to get the sand out of their vaginas and stop acting like Favre wasn't a huge part of their history. God, such immature babyback bitches. That's why I'm glad the Vikings won, because a lot of the Packer fans needed (and still do) a good bitch slap.
go farve and vikings im still somewhat of a packers fan but wow does it feel good too see my hero win games at 40 something years old vikings are going too at lest make it there too the super bowl and maybe win im not sure lol =)
10 years from now Brett favre might retire. Its just something we are going to have to live with. I know its hard to adjust to a world with out favre but he cant play forever... Wait a minute, no he can play forever. Forget what I just said.
u know favre inspired me to b a better qb.... watching him tought me how to b tough, play when ur hurt, and give every damn peice of ur body to win a football game!!! and i wuz born a packers fan, i bleed cheese.... so brett favre the next time u come to lambou the packers deffense is gonna give u the ass kicking of a lifetime !!!!
HE RETIRED!!!! its that simple...We moved on with a better QB right now Aaron Rodgers get over all this...Aaron is a better QB right now its not even debatable...look at the numbers....and when i say that i mean look at all the numbers including rushing yards and TD's....Aaron is better than Brett and Brett ended his career om GB he RETIRED!
@TheRodge12fin88MMTT ted thompson forced Brett to retire before he was ready....And as for aaron being better than Brett then you are a fool...I tell ya what when aaron wins a super bowl AND surpasses all of the records that Brett has achieved then we will talk....Blame Ted not Brett
@packattackallday what are u that dumb? Asshole Thompson is the one who TRADED him 2 the jets u idiot!! We all seen last season why after he beat the hell out of the Packers TWICE!!!
If you were to read my post a little closely, you would recognize it was for the 2 weeks AFTER he retired the first time. It wasn't until a couple months after the retirement that TT traded Favre away because he finally decided to unretire. I suggest you learn how to read before making offensive remarks.
Brett, YOU ARE ALL THAT IS MAN. The best QB of all time, maybe even the best player all time. Nobody plays NFL football for 20 years without losing any talent, nobody. You've never missed a beat, You're a legend sir.
Brett, YOU ARE ALL THAT IS MAN. The best QB of all time, maybe even the best player all time. Nobody plays NFL football for 20 years without losing any talent, nobody. You've never missed a beat, You're a legend sir.
I take great pride in watching this video...as a packer fan for the last 18 years (22 years old) i have watched a adored Brett Favre my entire life. When Green Bay's evil GM Ted Thompson ran Brett out of town i choose to continue to root for the packers and cheer on Favre. I was behind him in New York and i was behind him in Minnesota.
I live in Wisconsin, Brett Favre is the man! I still love the Packers don't get me wrong. But ugh hmm You lost TWICE TO FAVRE SO SUCK THAT ONE BITCHES!
Hey douchebag, didn't Rodgers punt away the season? Come to think of it, isn't Favre your only qb to win a superbowl for that back-ass red neck city since the 1960s?
lmao ur still spreading your hate across youtube, pathetic! Im curious why his mistakes make you feel so good? wake up dude. Favre is a certified champion, he was before u were born, he will be after u die, get over it. u can search ur negative stats on him all u want, his career is already certified as 1 of the best ever, he can throw 50 ints in the playoffs dont matter, get over it and get a life urfighting a pointless cause that no1 takes serious, cept losers like u of course
Lets see how many youtubers desperately want Brett Favre back for one more year! So, befriend me, subscribe, do whatever you can to show Favre that he is loved in Minnesota!!
@huss171 What are you talking about? Rodgers is the best replacement of a legend since Steve Young, and at this pace he could eventually eclipse Young.
Favre is my favorite athlete, but Rodgers is a beast. I don't know if Rodgers can beat Favre, but that's a mental issue. Rodgers I believe can beat any non Favre team in the NFL on a good day.
If I can't have Favre then Rodgers by far is the next best choice in the entire NFL.
No shock. Players behind Favre become legends or nobodies.
i don't know but repeated personal fouls on the qb is just such the classy way to play. I give the man huge props for taking tons of crappy hits and going back out there w/his ankle screwed up.
listen slotten68 I'm a Packer fan and I realy hate the Vikings and their fancy gay jerseys but man, when Favre signed up they are the number one prime time all man deserve the name VIKINGS would win superbowl this year mother shut your mouth...
Awesome video Pat. If the Vikes win the super-bowl, I'd pay to see a longer cut of this. Too bad the vikes and pack didn't meet in the playoffs, It would have been epic. Rogers AND Favre are both awesome, Favre is having a better season, but not even Favre knew that it would turn out this way...
OK, if your team gave YOU the boot after 17 years of playing with them, you would be pissed off too. Favre just wanted some revenge, so he played for the vikes and killed the packers. If you were in his shoes you would have done the same. GO VIKES GO FAVRE
@2009jenrose But it's the same shit with Favre year after year. Will he retire or will he return. Favre called a press conference to announce his retirement, thus handing the starting Quarterback position to Aaron Rodgers. Then Favre decides he wants to return... Kudos to the Packers for not giving in. Before Favre retired with Green Bay, he was stepping on the toes of Rodgers and stunting his development. Spin it any way you like, but Brett Favre is a piece of shit.
@2009jenrose i understand where your going with that but what if favre didnt play for the vikes where would they be with t-jack knowhere you can ask just about anyone with out favre they aint shit and where did he get all of his shit from the packers wheres all the records comming from the packers wheres his ring from the packers why does every viking fan have to say hes the best in mionnesota well hes not and some people just cant understand that at all and it pisses me off sorry for being mean
And by the way the Packers organization did the right thing----how many seasons went by with Favre waffling on "should I retire, shouldn't I" ---it got sickening----quit stroking your ego Brett and just retire before he get's hit and doesn't walk away from it
I hate when i see ppl comparing rating with aarong rodgers to brett favre!! but they always leave out one thing!! there age difference favre count run and scramble like aaron
packers can't win in a dome. Vikings would face Packers in the playoffs I say, VIKES 34, PACK 17 FAVRE has owned Green Bay this year. He loved to beat them again!
IM a packer fan from birth....I love Bret Farve but if the packers meet the vikings....in the playoffs......its Packers 34- Vikings 27......THE GREEN BAY PACKERS are CHAMPIONS....and Farve left the nest.....he will cry and sob....but the dawn of a new age has come to GreenBay and another set of Championships are here for TITLE TOWN USA to win!!!!!!
Hello packer fan from birth. I am a Viking fan from Birth. At the beginning of the season, it was hurtful to see so many packer fans making the most dire predictions for my team short of armageddon. Now I have come to realize that you are in fact the wind in our sails, and the constant reminder of why all good things come to those who wait. 50 years of waving your asses in our face is bound to the will of karma, and thus is going to make a 3rd win against you all the sweeter. Happy New Year 2010
@VikingsDefenseFan Hello Viking fan and Packer fan from birth, im a Packer fan from birth myself. Im secretly crossing my fingers so Green Bay and Minnesota end up playing for the NFC Championship game. Nothing would make me happier to see Favre cry after being completely pillaged by the Packer D, which is currently playing stronger than any team in the NFL. The pack is hot, the vikes not were a whole new team now.
Until Favre hangs up those ugly goofy purple pads, i wish the worst for him.
I'll try to understand half of your gibberish, but here's a fact. 50% of Vikings fans want to play the Packers in the Divisional game on January 17th, after having the Cowboys, and Cardinals to choose from. You should feel good. Right up until we bash your faces in. By all means forget that the Vikings are the packer smackers in the NFL. Purple is the color of royalty, and green is the color of boy scouts. Go Vikings! XLIV!!!
Ill try to understand your points, that being yeah you had GB's number this year. But consider this, remember when Moss and the vikes came into Lambeau and beat us in the playoffs after we swept you during the reg season (the Moss moon game)? Its very tough to beat a team 3 times in 1 year, especially a team playing as well as GB. Finally, i know you're a vikes fan but honestly you have the ugliest uniforms in the league. Green/Gold represents a tradition of winning while purple represents...
Yeah...I know you couldnt think of anything to rebuttal that, and yeah...it must suck that your team hasen't won anything meaningful in its long history...ever. See you guys in the playoffs. Of course, that is if you make it that far
Either you are a ten year old who cant keep up with me or you are just trying to act smart as a last ditch effort to avoid the fact that the vikes have a proud tradition of choking in the playoffs every year, and nothing is leading me to believe they wont this year as well. Simple enough einstein?
Excuse me ? Unlike someone I'm not talking in circles to which I have a misconstrued thought that I've actually made a legitimate argument... Ring a bell? Nothing huh? No sense in kicking a dead horse I suppose.
@gfscarface13 True Scarface, Favre threw a classic interception. However my God, I can't believe how the rest of our guys fumbled those balls again, and again.. Ultimately it wasn't Favre who lost that game for us, it was us.. So.. Talk your shit. But Looking at the stats I know you have no idea wtf ur sayin. So how bout them Cowboys? Oh that's right, you don't want to talk about the team you say you support because they are copycats and will go another 13 years before winning a single playoff..
AP is credited with 3 fumbles but it should be 2 fumbles cause one of them it was Brett's fault, he didnt even give him the ball right.
AP rushing TD tied the game at 28-28 so AP did his part. Now the Vikings have the ball again with a Chance to go to the SuperBowl, all Brett had to do was protect the Football & not turn the ball over, set up a Game Winning Field Goal, give your kicker a Chance. Instead History repeat itself. Brett Favre makes a mistake by throwing to a Double Covered receiver.
People seem to forget that Favre lead the team to 3 consecutive 9-7 years before the were able to build one of the best Ds and STs in the game. Then THEY won the super bowl.
1perfectstranger2u 9 months ago
@1perfectstranger2u Can you really blame them for asking him to quit after the 05 season? They went 4-12 and he threw a career-high 29 interceptions. The guy is full of himself. He loves being in the spotlight. I'm glad the Pack didn't let him come back after his little teary-eyed press conference announcing that he had retired. They weren't about to tell Rodgers to return to the back seat because the old fart had a change of heart.
GreenDay1981 8 months ago
No facts = dumb
toolkien 5 months ago
@toolkien the game was so much different back then....the qbs and recievers werent protected nearly as much...just look at the stats that qbs put up nowadays. that never happened 20 years ago.. qbs got hit..recievers got hit and held every play. the rules have changed- hence the stats have changed
t97135862 1 month ago
@toolkien you dont know how to analyze a game....qbs dont pass to themselves. THATS A FACT....the game is about wins and loses THATS A FACT....in 91' the packers were 4-12....the next year they got favre and went 9-7 THATS A FACT. Brett Favre only has one losing season THATS A FACT

Happy New Year 2010
VikingsDefenseFan 2 years ago
@VikingsDefenseFan Hello Viking fan and Packer fan from birth, im a Packer fan from birth myself. Im secretly crossing my fingers so Green Bay and Minnesota end up playing for the NFC Championship game. Nothing would make me happier to see Favre cry after being completely pillaged by the Packer D, which is currently playing stronger than any team in the NFL. The pack is hot, the vikes not were a whole new team now.
Until Favre hangs up those ugly goofy purple pads, i wish the worst for him.
Slotten68 2 years ago
I'll try to understand half of your gibberish, but here's a fact. 50% of Vikings fans want to play the Packers in the Divisional game on January 17th, after having the Cowboys, and Cardinals to choose from. You should feel good. Right up until we bash your faces in. By all means forget that the Vikings are the packer smackers in the NFL. Purple is the color of royalty, and green is the color of boy scouts. Go Vikings! XLIV!!!
VikingsDefenseFan 2 years ago 2
Ill try to understand your points, that being yeah you had GB's number this year. But consider this, remember when Moss and the vikes came into Lambeau and beat us in the playoffs after we swept you during the reg season (the Moss moon game)? Its very tough to beat a team 3 times in 1 year, especially a team playing as well as GB. Finally, i know you're a vikes fan but honestly you have the ugliest uniforms in the league. Green/Gold represents a tradition of winning while purple represents...
Slotten68 2 years ago
Yeah.... Have a point if you're going to sputter gibberish mmk?

Brett Favre makes a mistake by throwing to a Double Covered receiver.

they did great. the cardinals cheated and the refs were on payroll. there was a clear facemask on the last play of the game thats why they lost.
