I remember hearing this song when I was sixteen (summer of 77).... kinda freaked me a little. Sounded soooo different from everything else on the radio.. loved it right away.
i like the sound on this tune, you could say that I feel love from DS was the first popsynth record before Gary Newman & The Tubway Army, but then again Telstar in 1962 by the tornados was probably forunner of what music was in the 80s
absolute genius - this is the song that separated this vibe from the Beatles - don't get me wrong, I love the mop tops, but this was really different and paved tyhe way for punk - in that it diddle confrrm
I am 53, from the big Apple. Grew up listening to all this music. I am so glad I grew up during those times, it started in 76 for me then it ran all the way to 83 when I joined the Marines. I hung out tough for 7 years in the best city in the world. Loved it. Worked all day, partied all night and then repeated.
i was in prison doing a six month stretch for budgie rustling when i first heard this bril track when i got out my mum had my dinner ready and the single just having a giggle please laugh
the german munich sound machine inspired by geroge moroder .
and those rock and roll dirty filty pigs hated this sound .
this was club life for real.
all those hippies who got all highed up and staed home and watched saturday night live and those wolfman jack rock showes on t.v...lamers they were all complaining they wanted to be entertained . cant dance r&r hippey hill billy low life jelious of disco night live .
@jaimeneves........... It was not slow in it's time. The human attention span is about 2 seconds now so go figure you would think it's too slow...................... It's a love making song something you would probably know nohting about..........
In the mid 70s, I really didn't like Disco music much. Then, in 1977, I heard this Georgio Moroder synthesizer masterpiece with that gorgeous, sexy female voice. My girlfriend only listens to New Country, but he first time she heard this tune, it blew her mind. "What was THAT?" she asked. Indeed. Awesome sounds.
One of the best disco records of the 70's. I remember when I first got my Sony Walkman tape player and listening through the headphones at the music going back and forth from one ear to another thinking this is amazing, true stereo sound.
Man do I remember this song, one of the first to use so much electronics. And a summer evening in 1977 at "Ryan's Someplace Else" in Syracuse NY... I don't remember her name but what a night we had!!! And it all started with this song.
i was about 11 when this came out - on the brink of puberty...it rather speeded up the process...(always reminds me of the frenzied fairgrounds in the england of my early youth - big clunking machinery, strong smells of oil, sweat and caramelised onions and sugar...how sexy is that?
This is the greatest song of all time. I was on a kibbutz in Israel, sitting in my cabin listening to the BBC World Service top 10 countdown. My head nearly blew off when I heard this song.
I wrote to my parents and they had the single waiting for me when I got home about 3 months later!
I just listened to Vanessa Mae's version of this song. I must say I prefer the pace of this version but the vocals of Vanessa Mae. And then again... Donna Summer's vocals grow on me as I listen.

This is playing too slow... just a fraction, but her voice is distorted and it sounds a bit like a 45 that is played on LP mode.
