haha tough little rider for sticking with it! You always feel bad for the kids when ponies do that, but at the same time its hard not to laugh a little.
@ccmattyjayde wowwwwww..... she's 5? give her break! you have to LEARN how to ride, it's not instinct, thats why kids start out with little ponies like this. I'm sure this little girl learned alot from that pony too! Good job to her for hanging in there!
This pony should not be in the arena. It doesn't suit him. She did give it her all, good for her. Personally I would buy my kid a Shetland, they are too unpredictable. Welsh or POA is better.
I think the pony was confused because the little girl was kicking on the flanks and shoulder. Try bringing your hands down, sit deep in the saddle, and bring your legs back behind the girth. just a tip!
dude you need to chill! seriously shes little! that little girl is probably about 6 or 7 years old and she doesnt know any better! chill out! peopel are retarted!
Great video. Bet she'll get a big kick out of watching it when she's older. Too bad so many people felt they needed this space to vent. Keep up the good work Dad. Encouragement goes a long way.
the problem is you legs are to far foward keeping him from using his front.. honestly, your too big for that pony. and you pull and kick at the same time?! you need to go to a charmayne clinique
For being 19 (if that IS your age, you sure as hell don't act/sound like it), I think you'd have an understanding for younger kids and their struggles and guts.
GROW UP miss "I'm a spoiled little brat with 19 horses wa wa".
woah she got guts! when i was her age, i would be frightened silly if my pony reared :) shes a very good rider! and you shut up dad, Mary knows what to do XD good luck for mary and Penny in the future!
A LOT more impressive than the little kids up on trained horses, that fall off all by themselves, and then the horses go on and do the pattern alone...
ponies can be the most rotten things on the face of the earth! she stuck it out though, bravo to her!!! Great try and POOH on the grouchy pony! I have ridden some nutso horses but I think I'd rather ride them than a nasty pony, haha they're much worse!!
thats pretty harsh! its a harmless five year old for petes sake!!! and there you go with the abuse again...you think everyone who pulls on the reins even slightly is abusing their horse. you must be blind because she was not pulling on her pony hard at all, the pony was being stubborn and trying to avoid the girl no matter what
She did a great job of staying on and trying to keep control. The only thing is, she could have had her reins a little shorter toward the end, the pony had just a bit too much free rein. But good job to her :D
I just sold this pony today. Her days of trying to barrel race are over. She is going to become a little jumper though. Her new owner is only 3 so it will be awhile. This has been the best trail pony in the world and we're going to miss her.
CHILL OUT!!! She's a kid and has no idea what she's doing, u were there once ya' know?! And if there's anything that's shit, it's your attitude. GIVE THE KID A BREAK SHE'S 5 DAMNIT!
lots of comments by people who haven't owned a pony, sounds like to me. That 5 year-old little girl is amazing. The pony is a brat. The pony was being naughty and knew it.
Yeah, she's just a little girl learning, and it looks like this is just for fun, nothing more, she did a good job trying. You people don't need to critisize her for every little mistake, she's just learing.
har. Yeah. Most of that is the little girl's fault. Not trying to be mean or anything. She's pulling on her mouth and whatnot. But she just needs to keep working at it. Cute pony! ;D
OMFG!!! its a little 5 year old. CHILL OUT. she wasnt doing anything wrong, the pony was acting up. freaking jerk off. leave the poor little girl alone, she was just trying to have some fun, this vid was to laugh at. just shut the hell up and leave the site
This is a CHILD! Why on earth anyone would wanna be mean to this kid is beyon me! I think she did a GREAT job! She tried her best to get the pony to go an even stayed on when penny rared ;) Way to go kid, an as for the parent ;) Props on postin your kids vid an bein supportive!
wow i see you every where saying crap. i know we worked things out but you really need to stop being so mean to others. and if you think she is being mean to this pony well you can think that to your self. but you really need to stop being so RUDE to others
Good Job... You could have followed thru but she is yound. Cute Pony and awesome team. I have some problems with my horse to. It happens to all good riders!:) Well done
you guys are mean, shes just a child, and she did great I think.. given what she had to ride. I suppose she could've followed through, but its kind of frustrating. We've all been there unless your riding a robot horse, take it easy, she did good under the circumstances. And penny is adorable.
I started runnin' barrels on a shetland just like this little girl and he tried to buck me off between every barrel it's frustrating but I think it makes you a better rider and you learn to never give up!
I watched my video very closely and not once did she "hit" the pony. The pony wa struggling to go back to the gate - she direct reined her and kept her faced in the right direction, and if you look, she then moved her hands forward to loosen the rein, and the pony reared - the first time Mary's ever experienced rearing. A pony who wanted to go back to my other horse at the gate proved too much for this 5 year old. But she didn't hit her pony, and she didn't yank any more than she had to.
Actually the pony is the very best pony in the world. However, my mare, her buddy, was at the gate whinnying non-stop to her and Penny wanted very much to go back to her.
Oh geez. I am going to contradict everyone and say she is a sucky rider. She is yanking on the horses mouth while beating the crap outta the poor thing.
Something I wanted to add: I simply meant that she was giving mixed signals. Yes, she did stay on for the rear, but just that does not compromise a good rider. A good rider(IMHO) is a good horsewoman. And she has a ton of potential for being only 5.. But needless to say, she isn't a 'great' rider
I read all the comments and no one said she was a great rider. They only said "Good job staying on," and how funny it was. And the pony is a great sport. My daughter rode that pony for 2 years and did all sorts of things wrong, and the pony just stuck with her. Mary is 7 now, is riding a slightly larger pony and taking lessons. The new pony is also tolerant.
I had a pony like that=P poor thing had to put up with me.. Well. LOL. He didn't put up with much. If he got mad he would just flat out refuse to more. Good luck to her with her lessons!
WOW! What a great rider! Staying on while that pony reared! Good job! Hehe, Mary you remind me of myself My dad going "GOOD JOB!!!" and im all like "SHUT UP DAD!". Hehe. You keep riding that pony and you will be a great rider! mary, you kept your cool and you showed that horse whos boss! And I thought my horse was stubborn! Good ride!
Then you too will have a lawn ornament that can be loved. I have had various sizes of out grown ponies that we continued to enjoy. Driving ponies are lots of fun! And a new adventure for kids.
Too cute! Keep her on this pony and you will not be sorry. She will learn as the pony does. The pony was just a little scared and confused and Mary did very well! Yeah Mary! Your pony is a very pretty girl!! 5 starz for you both!
Yes, this video was at the beginning of summer, and by the end of summer the two of them were much better. Unfortunately Mary will outgrow Penny just when they get perfect together!
Awwww she didn't give up, keep on doing what you do! Good luck! :-)
