The Road Home was her finest performance. Many of her later Asian films and Hollywood films don't really do her acting any justice. She has immense talent. Zhang Yimou had the ability to understand her strengths and bring out the best in her. Someone called her a sellout, but I think the real issue is that she hasn't worked with anyone else as awesome as Zhang Yimou.
like it or not most westerners wouldn't even know about her if it weren't for that "cameo" (it was a pretty major part) in the blockbuster smash rush hour 2. And I thought she was great in it, anyway

Too 'driven'? As in she puts too much emphasis on her stellar career? If more people were 'too driven' in their paths, maybe this world would be a better place. FINALLY an Asian global superstar. Besides Scarlett Johanssen, I haven't found anyone in my country in that generation worth taking the Pepsi challenge with the rest of the world.
