  • awesome! i actually realise now that i put my sperzel locking tuners on in a faulty way.. will fix that now, they are staggered and just put on randomly.

  • Very nice explanation. I have the Ez Lock Tuners and they don't give any sugestions of use. Thanks from Brazil!

  • I watched you instyctions followed therm to the t.. and in 15 minuets my Strat is perfect!

  • grande galeeeeeeeee!!!

  • great lesson!

  • do tuning gear shims actually exist? ive googled them and i can't find any. are they just generic shims that fit a tuner?

  • @hnaht321 yes all parts or wd should have them.

  • Awesome lesson. Has anyone ever removed the string tree of a Fender American Standard Strat?? I also should mention I has a floating bridge. Please help. My Strat always goes out of tune.

  • This guy is really good.

  • Thank you Galeazzo your helped me a lot.

    Best regards from Ecuador

    Ignacio

  • Fantastic- i like mechanics -I have a 72-75 fend strat that needs to stay in tune when using the trem. Thanks so much Frudua

  • @FruduaTv Ok, grazie mille!

  • With staggered locking tuners, do you still need the string tree?

  • @Mr78130 most of the times no Sir!

  • is using a roller nut way better than any graphite or brass nut ? is is the difference just based on how good the nut is

  • @dmohr7 It's good and it helps tuning stability.

  • between 6 and 12 degrees? Surely the 'perfect' nut angle is no angle at all? For instance..a straight run over the nut to the tuners?

  • The vintage Kluson tuners are the best ! You can't sting your fingers on the string ends. And you don't need to use staggered tuners or worry about the b and e string tree... all you need to do is use the proper string length and correct number of turns around the post to get the appropriate angle from the nut.

  • @charlesdespres They also offer another advantage few knows: you can tune and then untune, un-tiwst them and retune so strings are not twisted in tune (no sure I explained mysle fin english ahahahah)

  • @FruduaTv You mean the strings can be taken off and put back on without putting a twist in the string?

  • @charlesdespres When you mount the strings they are fixed on the bridge side, so you end up with a string which is twisted when in tension. This damages the strings structure intonation and and tone. The Klusons gives you the opportuninty to release the string, let it twist back to its original condition and remount them as they keep the shape at the tuners once wrapped. This is a trick I also use on the Floyd Rose to get a better tone ;)

  • @charlesdespres Yes, when you take them off they twist in your hand and you remount them without the twist.

  • @FruduaTv Thanks for the info. But I'm not sure the strings always twist. When they do, you can see that they vibrate in a weird pattern. But I need to check it out next time I change my strings. Thanks again for the great videos and information. Food for thought!

  • @charlesdespres I't's impossible to note this when they are in tune the tension is too high but tensioning them twisted weakens the strings strcture and mod vibration.

  • what about using a roller nut as well?

  • @jamesmanortiz Yes good. this is mentioned n the other 3 videos

  • hi, frudua!

could you please tell me what is the exact name of those staggered locking tuners you used in this video?

  • @jerko1324 You can only find them on my guitars :)

  • Comment removed

  • Great Video!!!

  • @FreeByrd007 No Sir!

  • thanks Frudua, you inspired me to buy some staggered locking tuners and I'm no longer afraid to get bendy with the strings.. I was finally able to take my string trees off and have my guitar stay in tune much more often, and now that I have locking tuners I don't need to tune my guitar so much anymore

  • @MasterBitting Very Good Masterbitting.

  • does anyone know were you can get those tuner shims from?

  • @madews Not sure were I bought them. It's a long time. Searched around but looks like they are no longer produced. Try All Parts.

  • Thank you my friend!!

  • what if u have vintage strat/tele style tuners?

  • ciao senti puoi riassumermi brevemente questi trucchi in italiano?

  • Riassumere 5 video "brevemente"? ;)

  • what if you have a string tree that goes over ALL strings?

  • too much useless string friction on some strings where it is not needed.

  • @FruduaTv, huh?

  • @InFuriatedShadows You'd got too much useless string friction on some strings where it is not needed.

  • can someone give me a link to the string trees shown in that picture, i cant find any like that. :(

  • @ducaducadan Where are you living ?

  • Thank you so much for this valuble information. It is very obvious that you are strong in your engineering background and to having someone share this information at no cost makes me and many other people very happy. Thanks!

  • This makes sense. Thanks for this excellent video dude

  • Thanks so much for this Mr. Frudua. You are saving me a lot of frustration and educating me on my guitars. You are a great instructor.
