I've been resistant to give up AfterFX since I'm so comfortable with it, but after seeing this demonstration it would be hard not to consider moving to Nuke. Being able to work with the comp in 3 dimensions as if it were a native CGI app would be a real eye opener!
As a AE user I think that Nuke is really great..the number 1, but, but if you are working with cinema..if you just work with publicity...motion graphics...i think that nuke not is the rigth choice..very..very burocratic..that schematic nodes makes my brain pulse as crazy...and in a short time job ( 2 days ) you will be lost (as my english ).so, great software, but for the rigth purpose.
Hello @3DmanBR. If you're used to layer based comping it does take some time to get used to nodal comping workflows, however once you're there you should find the the crazy brain pulses diminish! Obviously NUKE is not a motion graphics tool, but it is seeing serious usage as comper of choice for shortform and agency type work augmenting AE installs and replacing expensive finishing systems.
@drakenlorde I've used after effects for almost 3 years now, and with everything that ! see about nuke, I think that after effects is easier to learn than nuke.
@BucciPhotography Very happy that you like it : ) We have a personal learning edition that is fully functioning but creates watermarked output available for download on our website. Just go to TheFoundry dot co dot uk and Nuke. You can also get a fully functioning demo for 15 days. Enjoy!
@TheFoundryChannel One question, In movies like avatar how do they create the realistic muzzle flashes? Is nuke used for that and if so, are their any tutorials on that topic?
im just starting to go to school for maya and nuke. How long did this take to do for the film. Just the part that is shown on the vidoe. just wondering
@chillydog12345 how is 3d max. I just got a BOXX workstation so as soon as it comes in I will put 3d max on it. I'm just getting started with the 3d stuff and I'm loving it..
@tattoobaker I'm not very good at 3ds max( i know more than the next man, and have made some sexy animations, its very hard but you can gain alot from a little time in the program.) im trying how to set up bi-peds-humans.

I'm working with Adobe and Autodesk softwares and they're somewhat hard and long to learn and to get result.
What is Nuke learning curve compared to 3ds max or After effects?
And is it easier to get result quickly with Nuke?
